The Beatles thing is pretty dumb. Didn't they just make their music available digitally within the last year or so?

The Beatles at one time owned the Top 5 spots on the billboard charts in the same week, that shit will never happen again. Popular music has it's good and bad, the good bands/acts last a long time the bad ones fade away. Hendrix also never had a Top 40 hit, his peak was 59 with "Freedom". It just sucks that radio stations are now controlled by program managers rather than DJs, thats why listeners have to find good music rather than being spoon feed crap.
