Top 10 Michigan-Notre Dame games

I found this list online.

It's pretty good, in terms of picking competitive, entertaining games in the series.

The '90 game was the first one I watched. That season pretty much solidified my Michigan fandom. I remember the week before that one, ND fans in our school talking trash about how ND was a better program, with their winning streak. They all talked trash again when Washington blew us out in the Rose Bowl, which taught me another lesson: ND fans are sore losers, and bad people in general.

My first M game is #4 on the list and I am looking right now at an autographed picture of that play, signed by Desmond on my desk.


Been to 6 ND games and (5-1) against those losers ...

My choice before looking at the list was #1. As my three son’s and I were exiting the stadium I told them this was a 100 yr game and one they will remember the rest of their lives.

My first very clear memories really started with the game in 1988. I was six then and the old brain sponge was developing nicely.

I can recall Harbaugh beating noter dame in '86 or so, because we'd moved to MI in the fall of '85 and I started following UM more closely. Then there were the Rocket Ismail games just before I started school.


1991 - Elvis to Desmond Frosh year
2003 - my wife's first game at M Stadium - UM 38-0 over Willingham
2005 - cankles waddles into town, Mike Hart and Chad Henne both fumble on the goal line, M loses.
2007 - Jimmy Clausen looks like an idiot and M wins again, 38-0 over nd
2011 - UTL-1 - not much to say other than ...awesome! sat near GW TD
2013 - UTL-2 - not much to say other than ...beat down and crowd record

I'm only 2-3...

I sat through the '05 loss, and all the night games of the Hoke era (2-2).

I could be 3-3, but as a sophomore I sold my ticket to the '99 home win ($60 went a lot farther back then), and we didn't play my junior or senior years.

I'm 1-0. Only went to the 2009 game. It was a wedding gift to my friend who is a NDSucks fan. I was much happier after the game than he was.

UTL-1 was in 2011.

2010 was RichRod's last year, also a win @ND.
