Trae Waynes 4.31 at the combine!!!

Tearing it up. 6-0, 186 lbs, just ran a 4.35 forty. Also did 19 reps on the bench and has a 38" vertical.

Might be a top 10 pick now.

Oh yeah, he was a 2 star recruit. Actually heard he was hoping to be in the 4.2s for his forty, but 4.35 is elite already.

4.32 second run

He can fly

Saw that, wow. From watching him and Darqueze the last 2 years, it was apparent that Waynes was faster and had a higher upside.

4.32 makes him undoubtedly the fastest player in the Big Ten last year. Devin Smith of Ohio State and Jeremy Langford each ran 4.42s.

They changed it to a 4.31. Daaahem!

One of the fastest players in conference history.

I said a long long time ago that he was a better athlete and DB than Darqueze.
Waynes is incredible.

He is a way better athlete but I think Dennard is a better football player or at least was in college.

Waynes is a better athlete and has more physical tools, Dennard had 1 of the top 2 or 3 seasons for a corner in NCAA history, played the position better. In the pros I think Waynes has the physical skills to be a top 5 corner, Dennard will be a long time starter, but maybe never a pro bowler.

People are talking top 10 right now for Waynes.

And to think he mentioned he would play out his last year a few months ago :) That would have been an auto 11/12 win season.

No idea he was THAT fast....i knew he was fast....not THAT fast. Dang, good day for him.

I wouldnt have guessed that fast with the number of people that got behind him in coverage 5-6 games this year. He had a good showing in all facets it seems. Hope he tears it up in the show.

Don't remember Waynes getting beat badly deep much this year, even in the Baylor game it took a perfect throw for him to get beat, really had blanket coverage. Seems like Drummond and Hicks got beat often though. With Drummond it was more of a scheme that opposing offenses started using to put their fastest receiver in the slot against one of our safeties. I think we see that tweaked this year on our defense although Nicholson is much faster than any safety we've had here in recent years so he might be more up to the task. Hicks seemed to have good enough speed, but his jam was terrible and he needs to get a lot stronger. Cox is very strong if he wins the corner spot, and has the straight line speed, but seems a little stiff to me to be played corner. There's several younger guys that could step up and start.

As for Waynes and the 4.31, it's not surprising in that we all heard he was running that in practice and better. But it's still a little surprising because every team's fanbase hears BS about 4.3 speed from the "insiders". Um fans thought Fuchess had 4.33 speed because that's what people reported he had run in practice. We were also told for years that Langford was one of the fastest guys on the team, his 4.42 was impressive. Waynes was the first person in his family not to go to college on a track scholarship, so it's in his blood.

Who's next? We have heard RJ Shelton is the fastest guy on the team, hard to imagine he's faster than Waynes though. RS FR Corner Justin Williams ran a 10.5 100 and a 20.7 200 in high school so he's going to be a burner too. RB Madre London ran a 10.7 100m in high school and is 215 lbs so he's going to be a home run threat at RB. What's crazy is that TJ harrell also ran a 10.7 100m in high school and he's going to play LB for us and is already 220 lbs.

I know every fanbase for every team always thinks the young guys on their team are more athletic than the guys that are leaving, but I think that's clearly the case with our roster. RJ Williamson is also supposed to be a freak athlete with excellent speed, he definitely showed it easily outrunning UM's fastest player on that pick 6 last season.

I watched the Waynes combine video on youtube. Hes at full speed in 3 steps. fucking flyin.

I don't follow NFL football at all so I'm curious to know how many of these guys are pro-bowlers?
