Watching our next opponent. I'm pulling for memphis but they present some problems too. Their guards are big and strong, they got appling in foul trouble and trice was pushed around last year

UVA plays a lot like wisconsin

Id much rather play Memphis, there is going to be a record number of fouls called if its UVA. Up 15 it looks like UVA :p

Even though Virginia is winning by 20+ I'm not very impressed. Memphis is god awful on defense.

Once again, please feed Dawson and Payne the ball and no Byrd!!!! Such a simple game plan.

It will be a tough game but we did easily beat Wisconsin

Virginia looked really good offensively against Memphis, moreso than their season stats would suggest. Not sure if that was them or Memphis not playing much defense. I watched them in the ACC Final vs Duke and they didn't light up the scoreboard but hit the shots when they needed to.

They look to me to be a team that relies on good movement (and screening) off the ball to get guys open rather than guys that attack as much off the dribble like we saw this past weekend. Hopefully that helps with some of the fouling, along with some adjustments on our part.

From what I saw vs Memphis they double the post very aggressively and they seem to change up where it is coming from. How Payne (and perhaps at times Dawson) is able to handle that might be the biggest key in my mind, along with getting some transition buckets.

I'll add too that our lack of killer instinct has been a problem all year. Hopefully the Harvard second half was their wakeup call, but we've seen this with this team numerous times this season. They get 15 point leads and then sit on them, and then sometimes let the other team back in. I saw Virginia and Arizona last night get 15 point leads and then bury the other team.

I guess the good news going forward is that the games should be tough enough that maybe there won't even be big leads to worry about maintaining.

Some of the blame for that has to be on Izzo - he should have called timeout much earlier in the Harvard run - prob before or certainly right after the first time they cut the lead in half. Instead he waited another 2 minutes for the media timeout. Not sure what he was saving them for - stop the bleeding there and you won't need 3+ TOs down the stretch. Clearly, the team's effort was more disappointing but he should have stopped the game and kicked them in the arse way before he did.
