As today Feb 25 according to the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino (former Las Vegas Hilton), Florida is the 5/1 odds to win it all, next is MSU and Kansas at 7/1. Duke, AZ, Louisville are 10/1. Kentucky, Cuse, Wichita St are 12/1, Creighton 18/1, Virginia, Villanova 20/1, Wisconsin, michigan, Iowa 25/1. Ohio St 30/1.

They're banking on us getting healthy

I thought about doing a future on that if it had moved to 20-1 on us. I know they are banking on us getting healthy but that is still pretty bold for it not to have moved to at least 12-1, especially since it appears appling isnt going to be at even 80% the rest of the year..

I think with everyone else at 100% we can get good pg play, it might be more trice and less appling but we can get good production out of the spot.

Makes me feel better about this season, huge disappointment and I attribute it to injuries and nothing else. Yes we've had some off games but being down 1-2 starters for the last 13 games just kills your margin for error. You can survive a bad shooting night from harris when dawson grabs 3 of his missesn etc.

I'd have to say vegas is objective, if they think we're a good bet than I do to

My buddy who works at a book in Vegas said they run lines all the time based on popularity of a program so that in football, for example, Michigan will draw a ton of $$ because of the national fanbase and the more casual fan will see Michigan is playing Illinois and is favored by 9 or whatever and will bet M but not know Illinois is actually a good team.

Raiders get it in the NFL -- huge national following and proximity to the bay area. Texas Longhorns in college football too ... Duke and UNC in hoops.

If I were a betting man, I'd put $1000 on M for the payoff over the other B10 teams and I doubt Florida wins it all.

If nothing comes in on MSU, the odds will move up

^^yep

They're banking on the fact that any CBB fan with a pulse has been beaten over the head with the MSU injury story. Put them at 7 to 1 right now to get everyone's attention, drop it to 10 to 1 right before tourney time so everyone jumps on it...rake in the cash.

But if certain fans take this as a reason to be happy with the season...well...as retarded as that is, more power to them.

you're right, it's all part of a vast conspiracy to suck the gullible MSU fans into blowing their kids college funds.

damn, fooled again!

I guess they are doing the same thing with Duke, Kansas, and Florida as well

I still think it's based purely on the fact that Izzo has led teams to the Final Four on multiple occasions with less talent than others. Vegas isn't saying "Look out for a healthy MSU". They're saying "Look out for that genius Izzo, he someone always manages to squeak his teams in."

Purely? I doubt it, why wouldn't unc be higher based on roy Williams? I think its a combo of coaching and the high ceiling a healthy msu team has.

One of my least favorite sports words: "Potential"

Anyways, purely was the wrong word. Mostly would be a better one.

And to answer the UNC question, because Izzo has done everything Williams has short of 1 National title with a less prestigious program. I'd take Izzo 100 times over Williams.

Vegas still has us at 10-1, they have a lot more confidence than the MSU fan base

It's those Illinois and Nebraska losses that stick out right now as they seemingly came out of left field, especially Illinois. Injuries and all, the other losses weren't bad. Prior to Big Ten play starting one could reasonably expect us to maybe lose at UM, UW and OSU even at full strength. UW and OSU were only by 2 points and the team played pretty well for about 30 minutes at UM, and the UM and UW games we were still down a starter.

The team isn't that far off, but the question remains if they'll be able to find that little extra something they'll need now (chemistry, defense, whatever) to be able to get things done in the post season. I guess the good new is for whatever reason this team doesn't play well at home and they're done now with that.

I'm not buying in until we win back to back games

It's the Izzo factor. And besides, wouldn't this be Izzo's first senior class that hasn't been to a final four? Maybe that comes into play? Seniors will be inspired.
