Vikings LB Anthony Barr says "Theo Riddick is Unguardable in the Slot"

My brother lives in Minny and sent me this video from the Vikings website of Anthony Barr being interviewed by Rich Eisen.

In the video (around the 6:50 mark) Eisen asks Barr who the toughest player hes had to cover in the league.

Barrs response: "Oh no doubt, Theo Riddick, from the Slot. The RB from the Lions, he is unblockable from the slot"

I was kind of surprised to hear this...I figured he would have gone with a WR atleast, but its cool to see Riddick getting some love from a Divison Rival.
I think Riddick is capable of filling the reggie bush/darren sproles type role for this team. He will never be a 'traditional' RB, but hes damn good at what he does, and I think hes a very important piece of this offense, especially as Staffords 'safety blanket' if his top 2 (or 3) options on a play are covered.

Interesting. I can see his point. He is really turning into a special player. Very quick, fast, and great hands. We got him 2 more years. If he continues to improve, he is going to get paid.

It's better to have him in the backfield and have him motion to the slot...that way you get a LB on him vs. a DB.

I wish he was a better running back though. You could have just drafted the best slot WR. Putting up even better numbers. But that's just me.

Yep. Matt Stafford led the team in some games.

a good stat for Riddick though - he was credited with 0 drops this season.. I still have trouble understanding what constitutes a 'drop', but its still pretty impressive considering he was targeted damn near 100 times.

He can catch the ball. Percentage of catches with regards to targets is pretty good also, 80%.

Agreed, I'd like to see him used how they used Harvin in Minnesota though.
