Is McCain back to being the guy I was excited about when he 1st announced he was running for President? He flipped like a switch when he was running, but before he ran he was good.

Bill probably doesn't stand a chance (it would be great if it did of course), but I'm glad there's someone across the isle for Warren to reach out to.

McCain has sure supported some real clunkers, but looking back he SHOULD have been President in 2000. He was at least consistent in his anti-torture, anti-extremism in defense of terror positions, and he would've never packed the cabinet with the think-tank hacks & Neo-Conservatives Bush did. He also seems to have enough political support in AZ that he could think more... eh... "independantly" when it came to enforcing federal laws and regulations on business.

The GOP leadership have a long way to go before they can live down the hypocrisy of proclaiming to be pro-military and stong on national defense, yet backing GWB over McCain in 2000, and attacking Kerry's war record in 2004.

You almost have to feel bad for McCain getting saddled with Sarah Palin in '08. He should've never trusted the NeoCons. The one time he listened to them, they burned him with that rusty-ball-and-chain of a running mate.

Palin was what did him in I think. He went a little crazy after that.

He didn't listen to the liberals who warned him that Bill Kristol is always wrong about everything. Always.

It would create a logical paradox if Bill Kristol said "I will always be wrong about everything" like a liar promising to always lie.
