Way to go Hanson

And he's still kicking 50+ yard FG's and probably leads the league in tackles by a kicker. LOL.

I never understood how he can ma a 50+ FG look like a chip shot but always has a hard time kicking them out of the endzone on kickoff.

50 yards vs 70 yards (last year)?

The Lions have only had 2 kickers since I have been a fan. Eddie Murry and Jason Hanson. He has to be the best 2nd rd pick in team history.

Good memories, I collect sports memorabilia and my 1st signed item was by Murry. From 87-88.

At least for pre-season games anyhow, that was a nasty hit he laid, should've been a fumble.

Pretty much only 3 kickers in my 43 yrs of following the team

E. Mann
E Murray
J Hanson

I'm sure there was a year or two of someone else, but couldn't recall his name

oh ya...Benny Ricardo for a couple years in the late 70's before Murray. I think he was a fag hairdresser

I think Kaline Country has me beat by a few years

Fortunate. Some teams have had 3 kickers in a year. Wonder if they draft one in '12.

funny thread....some of the pipes in this thread were shipping him out in August for Dave Rayner and just to save a few million in cap money.

No doubt. Let Hanson retire whn he wants too. Is this his last year on contract?

Hanson deserves to be with this team when it wins. And when he retires he should get an internal job. He has earned it.
