Welcome Caleb Swanigan to MSU.

Woohoo! awesome. I doubt williams will come now but hope he does. I guess he was "an msu lean" after all :) Awesome news. After 2 years of dreadful recruiting we are back on track.... enough of the final 4 head fake, time to hang some NC banners in the rafters the next 5 years.

Williams is still coming IMO.

A little surprised, but there was some rumblings he was coming here in the last few days.

If no one transfers our from line is massive:
Swanigan 6-8, 265
Schilling 6-9, 250
Costello 6-9, 245
Davis 6-10, 230
Clark 6-6, 225

Now time to Crystal ball Josh Langford over.

Would have been shocked last week, but the Cal group deal fell apart. He is really the perfect fit and complement to what we have on the team. He's a big man with excellent feet and quickness. Don't think he's a one and done, but he's closer to being pro ready than any big man we've brought in since Randolph.

Quite a class we have with 2 McDs AAs, another top 60 player in McQuaid, Ahrens, and Erin Harris who will be able to play is like adding another 5 star.

Right on there, he is most likely a 2 and done as I asssume hes not going to get the minutes he wants first year. Really hard to tell at this point but that gives us a top 10 class. LAngford would put us top 5. Even if he was a one ad done we might get lucky and score williams for the next few years as he would have to sit next year.

I wonder if it would be in the cards to put Wollenman on academic scholarship as he is currently a 3.95 GPA student. Opening 1 more up would be gravy.

Wollenman is already a walk on, no scholarship. Goins is also a walk on. We have 13 players in scholarship next season though. I think 1 or 2 transfers is coming. Ellis and maybe Schilling.

I bet Ellis will transfer, I HOPE he does.

So we're not better off without him?

LOL nope . If it came down to DEMANDING 30 minutes we would be. Obviously he knows thats not the case and is willing to deal with it. This site shoudnt be a muck flinging festival , we should all be collectively happy the guy committed. Trying to one up each other is childish.

I'm not trying to one up anyone. I've said all along i had written the guy off and would be happily surprised if he committed. I'm just having a little fun jabbing the flip-floppers who have been all over the spectrum (love him, hate him, love him again) on this kid as each rumor hits the internet particularly over the last week. It's harmless fun and they deserve it.

Id written him off also and most of the Spartan nation had. If I had my choice between Swanigan for 1 year or Willaims for 2 id take williams. Im not sure how this will play into his decision but the Detroit article says Williams "considers MSU at the top of his list". I believe he met with Izzo a few days ago also. Id really like to see LAngford commit but im really not expecting him to. This is good news after having poor recruiting (by our standards) the past few years.

I listened to Izzo's end of the season presser today and he said that he's gonna sit down with all the guys and talk over the next week. Said there were a few guys that he was gonna challenge if they really want to buy in and that it's possible we could lose a guy or 2.

I'm betting that Williams will sit tight for a few weeks to see how it shakes out.

I think Schilling might be one. He did mention earlier in the presser that he'd like to see Schilling find a "love" for the game.

Hes so kind to package it in that manner. I thought Sherman was better than Schilling and he left. Its not love for the game in my opnion its no touch whatsoever under the bucket. Hes had a few good moments but im sure it comes down to asking Williams if Schilling is gone would he sign on the dotted line. Things are shaking out nicely.
