What happened between Cecil and his son Prince Fielder?

A "tell all" book titled "Blood On The Diamond" authored by Cecil apparently will be out sometime this year...per none other than the controversial sports reporter and recently terminated ESPN talking head Rob Parker, whose "exclusive" interview with Cecil gives a little preview of his book and some insight on their lingering "family feud"

The book's title, "Blood On The Diamond" seems to be a little too melodramatic and most likely was meant to drum up more baseball fan interest, curiosity, and hopefully, sales...not even knowing yet what the dust-jacket will look like. Will the title have a font style of letters in dripping red blood? :hehe:

They got in a huge fight over the mashed potatoes and gravy at Thanksgiving dinner.

Haha...Cecil probably lost, but got cleaned up in the family bathroom after settling for one of the turkey(s) drumsticks that this son Prince hadn't used to whack him over the head with...and then later stole & hid (one of) the wishbone(s) to dry it out while it was still intact. Only one turkey most likely wouldn't be enough for both Prince and Cecil, (much less the entire Fielder clan) even if it was a heavyweight "Tom" turkey...

Kind of makes me sick a little. By all accounts Prince has every right to to never want to see his father or have him involved in his family, yet Cecil is going to try to vilify Prince in order to sell a few books and earn some scratch which he will likely blow at the craps tables anyways.

And we get to look forwards to the 2013 season with this hanging over Prince's head, and no doubt a bunch of cunt reporters who will ask him about it at every possible opportunity, specifically that bow-tied little fuck Rosenthal.

Cecil has a big gambling problem.

The story I always heard told was that the rift between the two centered around the divorce from Prince's mom and possibly some unpaid gambling debts Cecil racked up.

I think so. I also heard that they started to reconcile. Things changed maybe?

If the frosty relationship between Prince and Cecil had warmed recently, can't imagine how a so-called "Tell-All" book that Cecil will soon publish, it likely publicizing and revealing their spats from only HIS POV will help.

If anything it might have exactly the opposite effect, once Prince learns about what his daddy wrote about him.

I assume he needs the money, that's always a motivation to screw the family. It could also be a book where he talks about his mistakes..

He very likely will admit his mistakes, but it seems like (according to the article) his main goal is to portray himself as the victim.

So in the end even if he admits his mistakes, he's making more by dragging his son down.

Prince seems well rounded, from his Mom's influence I suspect. It doesn't seem to to affect him - at least outwardly.

Yeah...and Prince being 5' 11" & 275, (he might weigh less now) who is shorter but yet heavier than his pop Cecil, who is (or was) 6' 3" & 230 (whose weight seems too low but is according to BBR) still looks pretty "well-rounded" too...>:D

But his weight issues notwithstanding, Prince is certainly built like a brick shithouse (the "male" version) and seems to be almost impervious to injury.

6'3" 230....that has to be the biggest lie ever told on the internet? I'm 6'0 and I've weighed 230 before. If he was 230 pounds then I was only 170. He looks no less than 280 in most of these pictures.

I saw this on some website:

"Fielder was generously listed at 250 pounds on the back of his baseball card." - So whether he was 250 or heavier I bet BR gets a percentage of Cecil's book sales to list him that low..
