Wayne Lapierre is arguing that we do not prohibit those on the terror watch list from purchasing guns. 91% of the time those on the watch list have gotten approved for purchase. Are republican hawks so scared of getting primaried that they have to argue for terror suspects to be able to purchase firearms?

man, we just love our guns

It never fails to amaze me. There are over 100 million registered gun owners in the United States, but just shy of 5 million members of the NRA.

Which means the NRA represents less than 5% of all gun owners, and yet they think they represent us all. They speak as though they speak for us all.

I am a gun owner. I am not a member of the NRA, and I never will be, because in my opinion, they are a bunch of lunatics. If the government ever required the passing of a mental health exam as a prerequisite for gun ownership, 80% of their members would no longer legally own a gun.

... and it would be a much safer country to live in.

Well this stance is all about these patriot groups that perform military training in rural areas in case they have to overthrow the government. If the NRA is the base of the GOP these guys are the base of the base. They could get labeled as domestic terror suspects and lose their prized possessions

we can't let Syrian refugees into the country because then they could buy guns, so the solution is to ban allowing refugees into the country.

the big problem the NRA has is that white, gun toting militia nut jobs could be placed on a terrorist watch list. why on earth would someone think that a bunch of guys conducting military operations in case they have to overthrow the government could be considered a threat?

I wonder what percentage of terrorists purchase their weapons of choice through the proper channels.

I wish more gun owners felt this way. [sarcasm] I think there are 4 of us [/sarcasm].

Not sure but what's the logic behind lobbying to allow those on the watch list to purchase legally? Sounds like a no brainer but to these guys it's the beginning of the slippery slope, just like any gun control legislation

maybe they could put legislation in that says only US citizens can buy a gun. If you are an illegal or non citizen and you get caught with a gun you get a free pass back to your own country! Perfect!

I'm wondering what excuse the NRA is thinking up right about now...

zyxt and/or spartanmack coming in to thread to claim you are using this article to back up an actual argument and dont realize it's satire in 3...2....1....

Thumb coming to the thread to get it wrong again and say something stupid again in 3...oh wait, he's already done it. You're nothing if not reliable, thumbass.
