Explain to me what else he had to do to prove he was NFL caliber or at least good enough to make the Lions. This was a silly cut, and the guy did nothing but make plays. SMH

Agree, practice squad hopefully at least?

Negative to that, Willis is in his 7thish season (he's 29). Stafford has no accuracy so he needs big targets, like CJ, Pett, Schef, Fauria, so we kept Durham. Spurlock is a better special teamer so we kept him. Tuesday Owens goes on IR so that will open a spot, maybe he will be back but since Fauria can't block we will probably bring in a Will Heller type blocking TE.

Durham will make an amazing one handed 37 yard catch in the first game and then drop the next eight thrown his way. Willis will be back.

Big years for Broyles or Edwards feasting off single coverage. Nate can get 650-700 yards per usual when healthy. Plus 700 from Pettigrew. More TDs between him and Scheffler would be nice with Bush pushing coverage away from the TEs.

There's always the potential for big years from our other WRs when we have Calvin on the field. Burleson will have to find a way to beat single coverage if he wants to get even close to 650 yards. Broyles I believe can have a great year if he can stay healthy, but he's not a deep threat, he's more a precise route runner. IMO, Edwards has done pretty well in the preseason, but Stafford needs to be more accurate and put some touch on the ball if Edwards is to excel in this offense.

So in summary, Stafford needs to play better and not only rely on Calvin, Broyles needs to be healthy, and Edwards needs to provide a deep threat. Ideally we'll find a better #2 WR though.
