Free agent RT Eric Winston will visit the Ravens and Lions in addition to the Rams and Chiefs.
He'll reportedly be in Kansas City on Thursday. Judging by the interest he's generated thus far, Winston won't be on the market for long.

He's gonna cost a boatload. Probably not happening

I would love to see him in a Lions uni. He'll cost too much though.....fn sucks..

This guys been a zone blocking right tackle right? I'm not as into Olinemen skill sets as I am a number of other positions. Whats the likely hood for an above average zone guy to transition and still be above average?

Mitch[/color]]Yeah well, we need a RT too.

I agree we need an upgrade....but didnt have the luxury of spending top money with Winston...Fox or a draft pick will be the avenue, IMO

4 years 22 million....absolute theft for a RT of his calibre.

basically the same money as Backus. MM sucks.

ya but he never even got here for a visit....he was scheduled in for Monday but the Chiefs locked him up right quick.

My guess, Backus got a $3 SB, low base salary for this year and wont even be around in 2013. Probably counts around $3 on the cap. Lions had to sign him, no other cheap option at LT.
The Lions had $13 Mill to spend on LT, 2nd QB, LB & CB.....Winston was never in the picture
