Lions had 3 starters and a nickel back(who played a ton of snaps) on defense out. Watching that 96 yard drive. 3 completions and one TD on backup nickel back Don Carey and the first 3rd and 9, 4th string safety DeJaun Gomes(due to Carey playing nickel) allowed the completion. Give me Quin and Bentley and the Lions win.

Lions also missing WR 2 and 3 and important backup RB(4th Quarter). And tecnically the starting Right Tackle with Hilliard out. Waddle had his first bad game.

Also of note, the first drive, they mispotted the ball 5 yards foward. Should have been a loss of 8 for Pittsburgh but only a loss of 3. They converted the 3rd and 9.


Also the fake FG drive, they didn't call a face mask on Pittsburgh when Stafford ran for the first down. Should have been first and goal.

They couldn't have thrown anyway. With Delmas and Quin and Bentley there it would have been much harder for Big Ben is the point. Things opened up when the Lions couldn't tackle in Q1 and Q4 with everyone hurt. Q2 and Q3 the Lions pretty much shut down the Steelers offense other than the 1 Bell play.

I'm more informed about the game giving specific examples of plays. You just assume every incompletion is on Stafford.
