2014 Draft Thread

It's not that difficult to comprehend, is it? If Raiola had to cover for Peterman as well as his own guy, Raiola is going to perform worse. When Warford was able to take care of his guy, Raiola was able to focus on just his own guy. It's a lot easier to go against one guy than it is two. I'm not saying Raiola is amazing, but he had a solid year, a year that I think he can probably replicate in 2014 since Warford and Sims will still be next to him. Paying him the veteran minimum for above average play saves us money. Plus, getting a new center would only hurt Stafford. It's very unlikely that the new center would be able to make all the calls at the line in his rookie year.

Finally somebody who understands what I've been saying this entire off season....

His guy would blow him up 4 yards into the backfield. What moron would make crayons responsible for 2 guys? Youre reaching...

They say he's the number 4 WR in there draft. If I had a bet I'd say be was gone by our second round pick.

depends who jumps him. Cooks and Beckham Jr are more slot/speed type guys that could go early 2. Coleman is monstrous and if he puts up big combine numbers he'll skyrocket.

I never watched anyone play so I don't know..I just hope if we grab a WR I hope he has good hands, Herman Moore hands.

A lot of mocks/"experts" have us taking mike evans at 10....I think itd be a mistake. For me the draft is all about where you can get value....and there a ton of value in this draft at WR. You can easily get a #2 WR in rd 2 or 3 this year. Use the 1st rd pick on an OT or CB.

I'd rather just have two number 1 WRs.

CB,LT,S,WR. Anyone helps but only WR is necessary depending on Delmas contract situation. Might as well get the highest rated prospect. You'll still get a good player in Round 2 at CB or Safety.

Hell I'd go WR in Round 1, WR in Round 2 or WR in Round 1,TE in Round 2(depending on Pettigrew) to ensure Durham isn't on the field, Broyles gets to heal and it's not all on a 33 year old Burleson to be the complimentary receiver to Calvin again.

I'm weary of drafting a WR at 10 due to our past.

Mayhew doesn't with his first pick ever.
WR,WR is what I want if the board dictates.

Stud LT or CB woudn't bat an eye though. Or safety in Round 2.

Watkins or trade down to get Dennard imo. I'd like to see hughes guy drafted by the Lions in Rd 2 (matthews), and the best safety available in round 3 or maybe a guy like josh huff in round 3

The Lions biggest weakness is in the secondary. They need a #2 WR but I don't think you take him at #10. You certainly don't take two with your first two picks. That would be stupid!

The only way I see them taking two is if they have a plan to trade CJ but I don't see that.

What about 2 of the first 3 rounds? Huff is going to be stud, and can take the top off of the defense as he showed numerous times playing at Oregon. Guy would fit in very well here, and has no injury history for everybody to cry about. Close the book on what Broyles shoulda, coulda, woulda bs once and for all. Huff isn't that undersized either at 5'11 211 lbs.

The Lions biggest weaknesses is number 2 WR and number 3 WR.

Houston, Slay, Bentley at nickel. Young choices are already made at CB. Just need time to develop for the last 2. Houston can revert to 2010-2012 form.
