I love LEGO's!!!

I'm sure you did. You are the Ancient Mariner of Michigan football fans to them now. they'll probably repeat this story to their kids someday.

You dam right I am. And I hope they do. I've been following Michigan football longer than you have been alive.

true, but I was not celebrating that "win" early either. I watched that ill-fated punt attempt with the same grim concentration I had every other play of the game.

These were youngsters. Younger than my adult children. Early 20s.

Well, our streak of threads not dedicated to michigan is over. I guess it had to end at some point. i hope the hangover from this game is gone in mid October. Lots of unknowns for this years squad. College football in 1 more week gents.

All things under the sun come to an end.

This thread and this post remind me of the time Whoopi Goldberg quoted Ecclesiastes 3:1 when introducing the In Memorium section of the Academy Awards one year.

I seriously wish that the rivalry was more like a brotherhood than the toxic mess it is. "We beat the crap out of each other for a day and then root for the other the rest of the year."

The relationship is unhealthy, and both programs are responsible.

In fact, that is my pledge from now on.

welcome aboard. based on our previous conversations i thought you'd be be one of the last to adopt that position. there are certainly other more vitriolic wolverine fans but as a member of the old guard you seemed more set in your ways.

You know, I have discovered that the alternative is just too draining. I had a great time with a Spartan fan named Bob at the bar I was watching the M-MSU game last year. He congratulated me and left the bar with 1:48 to play. I wished he hadn't left. So, there it is.

Huh. So you think constantly ridiculing their alma mater's below-average academic reputation, their inability to get accepted to Michigan, and the loutish behavior of their fans might hurt their feelings, and be partially responsible for their deep, pervasive hatred of us?

You rarely see the essence of an issue. This needs to change at the top of the food chain. It's escalated to something greater than mere teasing and jaw-jacking. It's taken root internally.

Grasping the essence is a pretty tough ask of someone who doesn't even have a handle on the simple facts. And if he's at the top of the food chain, he's on a completely different food chain.

Wow. I just saw the first photo of Lou Anna K. Simon. She looks as dykie as most hairy legged lesbian I graduated with from Michigan in 1985.

I doubt Michael Schlissel ridicules MSU for a below average academic reputation, is condescending toward MSU students who didn't get accepted to Michigan, or comments frequently about the MSU fan bases' loutish behavior. And I doubt Lou Anna K. Simon has a deep seeded pervasive attitude toward Michigan.

I think this crap is limited to the interwebs.

I will say though, that Lou Anna K. Simon sure looks like she could handle a tractor and clean a pool, though...

youre right. as the leaders and best, we will have to be the ones to extend the proverbial olive branch here.

Lou Anna Simon has done a good job filling in the big shoes of her predecessor. I know it was a matter of pride for all Spartans when Peter McPherson accepted the Bush Administration's request to serve, and oversee the reconstruction of Iraq. All Spartans can also look with pride on that shining beacon of Democracy he helped create in the Middle East. MSU know-how put into practice!

I'm talking about the athletic programs.
