Michigan Week

I hope Lewerke isn't seriously injured. I can't stand to watch that bum O'Connor play another game.
It's clear that Lewerke is head and shoulders better than him. I expected to get blown out today, overall I'm not too disappointed with the result.

If you kick the PAT, recover the onside and Michigan had a penalty, do they have another play? Not sure how the rule works

You can't advance the ball so I'm assuming it's just a dead ball if MSU is the first to recover it and does so cleanly. I'd assume no time would run off on a dead ball deal like that.

I'm with you on that. I'm actually not too upset right now. Well, other than at the coaches for doing everything they could to lose this game. lol

A lot of questionable decisions out there. Corley needs to be returning kicks, he's obviously the most explosive player.

Red zone play calls stopped us from actually winning that game. Team played hard and the talent showed out. We should be a contender next season if we replace Warner.

Worst MSU team in decades loses to the best UM team in facades by 9.

This sums up how I feel as well. I expected to get beat by 4 TD's. That first drive was beautiful.

The coaches should be embarrassed by their decision making today. Play calling was horrible. Putting Holmes in to start the second series was awful. The field goal down by 20?? Meaningless 2 pt conversion??? The Damian Terry experience??? Letting O'Conner play????

John L Dantonio has been bad this year.

Not sure I would say "should", maybe more like "could". This season will probably end at best at 4-8 and could be 3-9. You don't often go from 3-9 to a contender without a whole lot going right. Surely it will be better, but "contender"? We'll see.

I had thought this program was beyond calling games where you are down by 20 midway through the 4th quarter at home moral victories, but maybe not.

As for UM, I'd say it's their best team since the Carr era and leave it at that. They are more likely to get better in the future than worse.

You might want to look at their roster. Michigan is losing almost their entire starting lineups on both sides of the ball. It's possible they could fall completely to the bottom like we did this year.

Pipe dream, they are going to win until Harbaugh leaves. I said that from the beginning. We dont need to worry about them (thats little brother talk), we need to correct our weaknesses and move forward.

Agreed. UM maybe drops off a little next year, but just like how OSU lost a ton last year and is right back in the Top 10 this year, I think that's how it'll be for UM more often than not now with Harbaugh.

Agreed on just needing to get ourselves straightened out and not worrying about OSU and UM, or heck even PSU who appears to be starting to get their act together again. Do that and maybe people can start talking about the Big Ten East like they do the SEC West.

I can't believe that people (in the media, which I really hope isn't a representation of our coaches) are still debating who the best QB is on this team. Are people that blind??? Am I watching different games than the coaches? Did they not see Lewerke throw an ABSOLUTE dime pass to Corley, did they not see Lewerke bring us from the brink of a blowout to actually having a chance with 3 minutes to go? Did they not see the 28 yard scramble?? What in the hell is wrong with our coaches? I don't care if O'Connor is a 10th year senior if you suck you should not be playing! Damion Terry is the worst passer I've ever seen and Lewerke honestly looks faster and smoother as a runner than him. So I don't know, I must be crazy, but the word competition should not even be mentioned with the QBs.

Tell me again when he's reloaded a team in one year before? They may well be back next year, but I don't care who the coach is losing possibly 18 of 22 starters plus key subs is not an easy task at the college level. I think he's a great coach, but I'm not hopping on his cock like some of you are. Be realistic man.

Not cock hopping just saying there wont be many Rodriguez or Hoke years while hes there. Also, Not saying "we wont win while hes there" just that their seasons should be good ones while he is.

Our Freshman are getting some good playing this year so we will be back the next year or year after.

Seems like Dantonio saved up 5 years of bad decisions to use this year.

Nah, they're just more obvious when the team sucks so badly and can't make up for the bad decisions. They may be occurring at a higher rate this year because some bad decisions are likely being made out desperation instead of just "why not try something stupid here and let the defense bail us out when it goes south".

He has had and will continue to have great recruiting classes. He does have to replace a ton next year but he has good tools and is way better than his predecessors.

That said, I didnt think this uofm team was nearly as good as I expected. I don't get the peppers hype - guy comes in on a few delayed blitzes for a coverage sack, fields a few punts and people want to give the heisman. He's undersized at LB, like Frey, but he doesn't suck like Frey, he's just a bit overrated, unlike Frey. I don't get it. Maybe there somebody who posts here that can explain why the experts are right and I shouldn't question Peppers' greatness. And Speit - to listen to Huard you'd think he was a sure fire NFL QB. His uniform was spotless because he was untouched all day and his numbers weren't stellar and probably misleading - he should have had 2 or 3 TDs. To be fair, I hadn't heard anyone talking him up before Huard gave him the full rub down and happy ending. Main point is, I was expecting a lot more from them, particularly on defense and I'm not buying the "Spartans got up for this game and gave 'em everything we had" because we still looked like shit to me.

Anyway, after watching them, Buckeyes, Clemson and Louisville I think there is a ton of separation between Bama and the next 4 or 5.

It does seem that even with some of the shortcomings in the roster that the coaching staff has done a really poor job adjusting to that. Maybe a little bit of arrogance and complacency? Thinking all the same basic stuff they've done before would magically work again.

Heck even when the basic stuff worked in the past for the most part for Bama by just lining up and coming at you, Saban still went out and hired Kiffin to given the offense even more of a boost and some variety in their schemes.

Lewerke broke his tibia and is done for the season. Terry or TOC now? Both options suck, I guess I would say Terry. I have little if any hope he will ever pan out to be anything decent but at this point why not.

Peppers has played 11 different positions this season. He's far from overrated. As for Speight, he's improving each game. Other than the pick yesterday I thought he played almost flawless. I didn't really agree with Huard when he said he's a sure fire nfl QB though.

wow, 11 positions. thats amazing. give him the Heisman.

why does the #2 team in the country need 1 guy to play 11 positions? the answer is simple - they don't. it's just a stupid gimmick to drum up Heisman talk.
