Don't have a clue what the real reason is, but my own opinion is that it was a hand slap and a message. I also have no idea whether it is unconstitutional or not, but that one may be mute. If Trump's enemies are able, I am sure impeachment was already a primary goal.

Don't disagree that the actual military effect was little to none, but I also heard they left the runways pretty much in tact - very few holes. That is what I heard, however I have no pictures to back that up.

Hearing the runway was being used the next day. My guess....we used a shithole country like Syria to show N Korea what could happen in a just a couple of minutes if you keep testing your missile capabilities. Pretty awesome....bomb a country that did nothing to you, unconstitutionally, without the backing of congress. Dont destroy a thing with 59 missiles. Lets be honest...Trump could give a fuck if all the Syrians died from a chemical attack.

I just assume its Russians who are carpet bombing civilians as they have been, under the pretense of "fighting ISIS" and a guy in Putin, known to brutal things, slipped some chem weapons in on a run.

US gets to grandstand in moral outrage over the use of chemical weapons ...notify Russia of the pending attack and attack a rather harmless airstrip in response.

Now Trump gets to play cowboy, attacking a strawman windmill for his own political needs and Russia can rebuke the US in its role as Assad buddy.

Just got another return on bomb investment; the "mother of all bombs" dropped on Afghanistan near the Pakistan border.

Don't know how much shit it blew up; was supposed to target underground passageways used by the Taliban and ISIS fighters.

I don't know much stock Trump owns in the company that builds these bombs.

Fox News was on in the sandwich shop where I got lunch (they call subs "po' boys" down here). they covered the Afghanistan bombing the entire time I was eating. Lots of stock video of similar bombs being dropped, "military experts" opining on this, that and the other thing. it's pretty clear this is all coordinated ahead of time, and nothing else was covered for a full 30 mins.

it's a little ridiculous how openly the Pentagon's propaganda machine works.
