NFL Draft Thread 2017

yeahhhh and people wanted this guy over Davis..... a guy who should be healthy and start day 1 >>>>> some guy who's already hurt and probably needs surgery... Great job passing on Foster..

God can you imagine what most of you would be saying had we drafted Foster and then it came out he may miss year 1. I will admit I wanted Foster going into the draft but I didnt know about the shoulder issues.

I read a few articles saying Davis was our guy so I wasn't caught off guard by the pick but I was like you and kind of wanted Foster all along and when he dropped got kind of excited. Shows what we know though I'd be pissed if our 1st rounder was missing the season.

Bloody murder is what you'd get lol

I fell under the Watt spell by the end. Doesn't fit the system I guess but guys like that should be able to adjust. This is why i'm not a GM. I'm not mad at the Davis pick but i'm keeping a close eye on Watt in Pburgh

I think some of the love TJ Watt got was because of his brother. People want to believe he can be as dominate as JJ, He isnt as built as JJ and may not be as dedicated but we shall see. It worked the opposite for Derrick Carr he should have been a first round pick but because David flopped he slid and the Raiders got a steal.

Completely different scheme. Even if he excels for steelers it is hard to tell how would do in 4-3 scheme. Could watt be a will lb which lions need more than Sam. Could watt play inside. Would whitehead stay at ilb if they drafted watt.

Davis at ilb and whitehead at ilb makes lions better at two positions. Whitehead at best in 2015 at sam and will lb spots

If he was our pick I'd have to think he plays at de and they thought he could put some weight on. Other than that i didn't think he was a scheme fit. Perfect for the Steelers.

Apparently he isn't terrible dropping in coverage and looked decent in LB drills pre draft... Could have been a nice blitzing linebacker but like you said I don't think he really fit here but fits in Pitt perfectly.

Boy, I just don't see anything on Tabor that makes me think "slow".

He tested bad. Had some injury at the combine I guess too...maybe proday as well? Idk. His game tape shows that he's a baller. 2nd rd steal...

The play where he had to split the WRs, came back on the play, and defended the pass... looked pretty damned fast to me. If it's not his legs, it's his instincts, but dude was able to contain two receivers and get back to defend the pass.

I see a guy who I think can play. Time will tell, but this 40 time to me (as useless as I think 40 times are in most cases) looks like bullshit.

i saw a lot of zone from florida in the middle of the field which allowed Tabor to pass off the WR to deep help....alot. Rarely did i see any plays where he had to run man v man all the way down the field. It doesnt happen that often in the NFL where your on an island and need to do that....hopefully. But thats where if any the slower 40 time will show up. Youre just not going to be on the hip of a 4.3 guy when you run a 4.7. He does have some length that will help him get back into the play faster than others. I dont see the 40 being a super big issue....but i wouldnt be shocked to see teams test him deep from time to time if hes manned up.

Well the nice thing is we have Slay who can pretty much keep up with anyone. Austin should be able to game plan so Tabor would not be one on one with the fastest guys in the NFL

Let's be honest here... teams will test him. I don't care if he's the 31 pick in the draft and rated as the highest ranked prospect of all time... my veteran QB and WR against your rookie CB? I'm going to make him prove it all day every day if I am an offensive coordinator. And typically, I'm going to win that while your rookie learns.

He will get tested this season if he starts, and a lot.. and he will lose that battle a lot too. No knock on him, that's just football. Welcome to the NFL, rookie.

Slay travels with the number 1. Not many number 2s run a 4.3. Tabor on th possession receiver making plays underneath and intermediate. And let's see how he does deep.

If he has good press, technique, ball skills and instincts he can make up for the deep speed. And maybe it was the hamstring injury and he has decent deep speed anyway

Love him as a prospect in round 2 even if he didn't go to lions
