Had no short fields and had his weapons all hurt leaving Kris Durham as the 2nd most targeted player. Most picks were not his fault.

Stafford was still 6 in passing TDs that year

And just for the record
2282 rushing yards for Carolina in 2015
1792 for Detroit.

Big difference. Some was Cam but still. Tons of short fields too. The Panthers forced like 39 turnovers in 2015 for Cam.

If the Lions force 39 turnovers in a season, the Lions have home field and go to the Super Bowl

Actually cam made up for more than that difference. He had 600+ yards. So Detroit had more rushing yards than Carolina when you take cam out. Nice job Stafford.... can't get it done!

Give him 39 defensive turnovers and he wins super bowl

Oh.... so now it's a different excuse? Lol.

Lions are top 10 in takeaways this year. Minnesota, NE, NO all examples that have less than us. Anymore excuses you need me to refute?

You didn't refute shit. It's multiple reasons you twit

Run game, ankle injury, pass pro, injured pass rush are the problems this year. Stafford has a good rating this season despite all that

My one DSF wish is to see how LKP defended Joey Harrington back in the day. I bet, if he was old enough to have internet privileges, that it was glorious.

Back then I had a couple nice arguments with my Uncle and I supported Harrington. I wish I could tell him he was right.

Multiple reasons = your first excuse gets blown up so you have to come up with another one which has nothing to do with Stafford and his production. Good job!

I mentioned turnovers too you fuck stick

Harrington was garbage as were all lions qbs prior to Stafford

2011 and beyond it has been injuries and refs

Prior was lack of qb talent

Joey Harrington = Matthew Stafford with less luck and more bad breaks.

If Charles Rogers would've stayed healthy, Joey Ballgame would've had the big threat on the outside and the next two year's 1st round picks could've gone to fill out other needs. Instead they consistently used 1st round picks on WR and 2nd/3rd rounders on defense, never focusing on the offensive line or backfield.

Kevin Jones couldn't stay healthy and the O-Line outside of Backus/Raiola was a revolving door. Even big free agent signings like Damien Woody sputtered once arriving in Detroit.

Speaking of revolving doors, Joey had to come from a college football program where Jeff Tedford had a meticulous and consistent way of approaching game planning but was drafted to a Lions team with no identity, running through 3 offensive coordinators in 4 years. He was never set up with a scheme to succeed, destined to fail.

:lmao: Holy shit dude, how do you do these mental gymnastics every week for years on end? It's exhausting and I only did it once. At least you have a fan in Tony.

Also worth nothing our passing game depends more on yards after catch than any other offense.

Stafford was the one of two QBs in the league last year that "threw" for more than 4k yards that had more than 1/2 their yards come from yards after the catch. Eli was the other.

So while our traditional running game sucks, Stafford gets most of his yards from the weapons doing the work after the catch. So he definitely gets benefit from running, just in a different way.

Lmao. He definitely gets benefit from running. What in thee flying fuck?!?! Sooooooo, it's the same as a running game?? Errrrrrr.......?? Lol.

So, Cam's running yds don't count??? Is this the fucking Bizarro World or what?!?

I see a total of 1335 for our running game in 2015 not the 1.7 lkp said and stafford had 160 of that.... And last year we totaled 1310...

If you are going cry about the running game you have to look at the benefits that Stafford gets from his "weapons". I'm sure every QB would love to have the majority of their yards come after the catch, makes the QBs job easier. Most don't get that benefit, Stafford does.

Every QB situation is different. So stop with the it's not fair to Stafford BS. Can't keep doing the poor Stafford excuse for 9 years.

Lmao!! The hate is real!!! 4 years!! 65 games without a 100 yd rusher lolololol. Of course that means nothing to you. You don't know football!!! Plain and simple. Stafford can't do it all by himself. He's incapable of it. He's not Brady or Rodgers. He needs fkn help!!
And I love Tate and his YAC but be honest here, he doesn't score TDs. It's not the same as having a fkn running game. Not even close!! Look at the teams succeeding in the NFL. The majority of them have great running games and solid defenses. We have neither you idiot.

Why would we count cams rushing yards when talking about the run game supporting cam? Support usually implies other people helping him...

It's still rushing yds lol. He's obviously helping his own cause.....cmon man lol

98 rating is good and Lions are 5th in PPG. Stafford got short fields this year (not recently though with lack of turnovers and no Agnew) and less drops. No run game though worse than prior years actually.

Let's see if the finger injury affects that in the final 4 games. The ankle injury definitely hurt him with a 3 int game with 12 tipped passes because he couldn't move. And his pass pro wasn't good this year with the injuries to the Lions oline for almost every linemen.

Stafford is an elite QB. Lions need health and the D to step up

2011-2016 Stafford had the worst combo for any QB of drops, rushing support and short fields. This can't be disputed. It's a fact.

2012/2013 major weapon injuries all over the place. Lack of short fields. Weapon caused turnovers. Not much run game in 2012 in yards.

Even the 2013 season was average in rush yards not even a great run game. They were still 22nd in YPC. 2013 had other problems in no short fields, weapon caused turnovers and weapon injuries (lots of Kris Durham)

The 2017 Lions gave him short fields, less drops and healthy weapons (other than Golladay). And despite an ankle injury for a terrible game, Stafford is playing really well with a good rating. Imagine if he had an average run game right now or average pass protection.

The difference in average wins for a team that is in the top half of the league for rushing and the bottom half of the league for rushing is less than 1 game. So a top rushing team gets you about 5% chance more at winning a game, so every 20 games you may win 1 more if you have a top running team.

Top half, is nice do top 10, top 7, top 5 and see.

Run game correlation to QB rating is needed too not just wins. What if the defense and ST is bad and cost wins

We want to know the correlation between run game and QB rating. How does run game affect QB rating

And I'll say it again

It's not JUST RUN GAME. It's pass pro, it's short fields most years, it's drops, it's weapon health and production. There are so many factors to help a QB succeed or not or show case his true talents.
