After a dismal road trip where the Wolverines were outscored by 49 points over two games, Michigan returns home to host Michigan State on Saturday night. It’s an 8 p.m. national broadcast on FOX and scheduled Maize Out (for the roughly 3000 fans that show up) in Ann Arbor.

The sort of night that should be one of the best of the season but simply isn’t. Michigan is 8-17 and has lost seven of its last eight games by double figures. The get-in price on secondary ticket markets starts at $35, which means there will likely be as much green and white in attendance as the Crisler Center has seen in years.

BOTTOM LINE

The reality is that this game is one of the last chances for this team to do something memorable. We’re winding down the days on a disastrous season with graduate transfer years coming to a close and the portal looming in the distance.

For two hours on Saturday night, Michigan has a chance to play well and try to make something happen against one of its biggest rivals. The Wisconsin and Ohio State wins remind us that this group has a chance at home against solid competition on a good day. Will this be one of them?

KenPom likes Michigan State, 76-69, with a 28% chance of a home upset.

Go Blue!

T-Will and Youssef are both out tonight, so our depth at the 3 is non-existent.

Right on cue mistake after mistake down the strech as msu pushes the lead back to 7 with only three. Left. Just to many mistakes offensively and defensively.. Maybe they have one run left.

Michigan losses another close game down the stretch. Team can’t hit anything last Five minutes. Lost by 10.

Hoops is not a lot of fun this season.

Good thing we’re a football school, anyway.
