Listen, i don't follow college football like most of you so called "experts". I just do a lot of reading on guys and from what i have read, i liked. More positive that negative is what i'm saying.

theres only been 1 player to make it to the NFL from Albion for a reason. Its filled with players that arent talented. They are in a league where WRs are 5'9'' and run 4.6 40s. Theres never been a QB from Alma who made it to the NFL....cause they arent good. This guy has been playing vs poor talent his entire college career and couldnt even make the Eastern Michigan team. For me its a bit early to put any labels on a guy like that until you see him play. JS and MM have no idea how he will stack up against better competition because theyve never seen him do it. Im not saying the kid wont make the team...just saying im holding off on what i think of him until he plays.

I didnt say anything bad about him...just stated some facts about the league he played in and the competition he went up against. I like the kids character...ive said it in numerous posts. I like the kids measurables....ive said that in numerous posts. Unfortunately, those 2 things alone dont make you a quality CB. Updating several previous items, free agent Ryan Grant never did meet with the Lions as reported on Monday.
A Lions official disputed a report that Grant was ever scheduled to visit the club. The source for the initial report was Grant's agent. The Detroit Free Press attempted to contact Grant's agent on Monday, but their calls were not returned. The initial story last week claimed that the Lions had a contract offer on the table for Grant, and we'd now be forced to question that.

fair enough to some degree, but let's face it...NO college athlete has experienced NFL talent because they were not in the NFL. otherwise there would never be a bust found in R1 or R2, likely even R3. but many in those rounds do bust. many picked relatively close to where greenwood was bust also, and then of course you have the undrafteds who become pro bowlers or better. it's no better than going to a casino...you know the house is favored to take all your money, but you still roll the dice on what you perceive to be the best odds for winning.

point being we all want to wait and see how the kid will perform and are hopeful that he has a great future. i get you are upset about some of us hoping he might one day be a solid #2, or even a #1 CB, but is that really any different than any of the other CBs drafted by any team? even peterson struggled last year, so i don't think any of us are expecting greenwood to immediately dominate. there isn't any more BS being placed toward greenwood than any other CB drafted by the lions or any other team. more talk sure, but it is one of the human nature storylines, pulling for the underdog, the nobody who becomes the hero. any drafted or undrafted CB could dominate, any of them could bust. all players are projects and you have to wait and see how they will eventually turn out. no different with stafford, cj, suh, fairley, best, leshoure, or anyone else.

sorry, i just don't see your viewpoint on this as you like the kids potential based on measureables, but are upset by the expressed hopes other fans - and i'm guessing the FO - have for him. whether you communicate them or not, i think your hopes for him are actually no different than the rest of us simply because he is honolulu blue, so i don't understand the complaints you have expressed. is it simply because of the larger amount of discussion than with, say, bentley? look at the bright side, we don't have tebowesque mania for him and he wasn't drafted in R1.

out of 79 replies on this kid....i have 4 and 1 of them is a positive post about how i liked his mini presser. Guess im not the only one bad with facts. And its not so much about being outspoken about him...moreso late cbs in general. Ive always ragged on late round CBs. Im still waiting for JS to prove me wrong that its ok to have less talented DBs in a passing league just cause you have a dline thats supposed to dominate. BUUUUuuuut the truth is im still waiting cause our secondary has sucked ever since....well...ever. The way i see it right now is we have Houston who should be a #2 and the rest are scrubs. The fact Berry will be in competition to start means there not much talent competing lol.
