Detroit Lions - Team Notes

Lions ?winners? in free agency, Todd McShay mock draft, more.
The Detroit Lions were declared Week 1 free agency winners by PFF.
Pro Football Focus named their top five Winners from the first week of free agency. The Detroit Lions came in at No. 2. Here is their reasoning:
?The Lions allowed the right side of their line to walk away in the same free-agency period, but they successfully upgraded at both spots on paper, and paid less to do it than their outgoing starters received on the open market from their new teams.?

Defensive end Derek Rivers meets with Detroit Lions at his Pro Day.
Draft analyst Tony Pauline reports that the Youngstown State pass rusher has met with the Detroit Lions.

Derek Rivers, who measured 6037 and 249 ponds and met with the Detroit Lions last night, re-ran the short shuttle and timed 4.39s, slightly better than his combine mark.
Greene ran most of Rivers? drills, and the defensive end/outside linebacker looked terrific not only rushing the passer but also dropping into space. He was smooth flipping his hips and effortlessly moved about the field. Much of this comes from the fact Rivers played tight end in high school and is comfortable moving in all directions.
