Game 11: Vikings @ Lions *Thanksgiving* Thread

So what??? Fells dropped another TD pass. Keenum's weapons didn't drop TD passes. Crazy eh lol

one was tipped a yard infront of him... bad pass Stafford.

The other would have been catchable if fells was 6'11".

Want to know why Rudolph didn't have a hard time catching keenum passes? Cause they were right on the money.

Nope. Wonder who he's talking about though

Probably will never know. But I suspect he is referring to the offense. Could be talking about the coaching staff to be honest.

Fells clearly couldn't hold onto the football, you fkn doofus lol. AGAIN, Fells failed his team and his QB. Nice try.

Keenum also didn't miss two TDs... screen and Tate over the middle. Missing 2 is worse than missing 1. Keenum didn't turn the ball over twice. Crazy eh lol.

4 bad plays by Stafford changed the game.

It?s fine, as long as he doesn?t name position groups or specific players. He?s saying his guys have to turn up. What?s wrong with that?

The one part he shouldn?t have done was not include himself in the comment though. Even if you feel you aren?t part of the problem you should say it while including yourself.

Stafford getting strip sacked is a bad play on Stafford? Lol. No it isn't btw. It's a good play by the defense. And he threw that INT late when he was hurt. Clue in...lol. Stafford wasn't the reason why we lost. Sure, he didn't have a good game but our defense is a fkn joke!!!! We were gashed on the ground and by a 3rd string QB.

+1 how anyone can’t blame the defense is beyond me. The browns and bears are laughably bad offenses with rookie quarterbacks who haven’t done much positive, and both of them tore up our defense for the first halves of the previous two games. Why can’t they figure it out sooner?

The zipped pass to Fells was thrown at ~helmet level and about 4 feet to his right side, so either he wasn't where Stafford expected him to be, or Matthew has been instructed to avoid throwing directly into close coverage, and so to lessen the risk of an INT. Since JBC became OC, the latter seems to be the case, as his amount of intercepted passes have dropped, but @ the cost of less RZ passing TDs.

Stafford's INT rate in a full season, has dropped by more than half since Caldwell became HC, from a high of 19 in '13. He is currently #1 in QBs sacked @ 36, one away from all of last season, and is just 9 from tying his career high of 45, also set in '13, with 5 games remaining. That is an average of ~3x sacked per game, and despite the easier schedule that is left, all that he needs is to average 2 per game, to wind up with 46.

Keenum had more time and made some big plays in first half. Nothing in second really. Run game only td for Vikings in second half

Lions just couldn't make the two big plays they needed. Stafford injury did not help. He was on fire then suddenly off after the injury

he got hurt late in the game. He was off for most of the game prior to getting hurt. of course, the injury didn't help matters

I wonder how big a loss Ngata really was. Going through the FO stats I post, the Lions have been in a steady decline defensively since week 5 when Ngata went down.

Week 5

Pass Defense
Detroit -18.7% (5th)

Rush Defense
Detroit -14.7% (14th)

Week 12 (prior to the outcome of yesterday, which will probably only get worse)

Pass Defense
Detroit 1.0% (11th)

Rush Defense
Detroit -3.6% (22nd)

I don't know if it's mostly Ngata or just a combination of other factors (Ziggy injury), but it's just a trend that I've noticed.

The one good thing about this game is the bet LKP made. He said Abdullah would have 100 yards rushing. 6 carries for 14 yards. We should be LKP free for 3 months!
