I don't get the play call. You are already well within Prater's range. Why make any risky mid-range throw with no time outs. It either has to be a short safe throw where you have time to line-up and spike it or something to the end zone.

Agreed, not sure if they get the ball snapped to spike it if it's caught.

Think it was designed to give options of depth. Jones was wide open 5 yards by the side lines. Gollady in the endzone (not sure if he was covered).

So there was short, mid and deep potential.
 
Love run plays that result in negative yardage. Quit calling runs that result in possible losses on 1st down. How hard is it?
