Critics hate it. Fans love it. Ticket sales, while weak by pre-covid measures, exceeded expectations. Hit all the nostalgia points really hard. AV Club points out that they put Paul Rudd in there to act as a fan going through all the nostalgia points along with the viewer. They didn't mention it, but I think a strong analogy would be the laugh track from TV sitcoms. I agree that that's what they did and I don't care. I really enjoyed it.
