In case you didnt hear FSD fired Larry Murphy. I seem to be in the minority here, and i will probably get killed for this but i never really liked Murphy. He knows hockey without question, i just never found him that entertaining as an announcer. However stating ratings was the reason he was fired is just plain dumb, ratings are down because fair weathered fans don't watch when the Wings aren't as good (happens to every team) and Bettman in all his wisdom decided to have another lock out. I have a feeling something went on behind the scenes here.

Smith needs some time to regroup. Lucky the Wings have a good replacement. I do hope Wings Fans can have a little patience with Smith. Very few rookies come into the league and play consistently, Smith is going to have his ups and downs as a player but with his talent i expect him to be very good for a long time. I feel like Kindl had too much pressure to be mini Nick too quick which stunted his development.

Confidence gets Brunner through. All great scorers have felt that their next one will be the one that goes in, no matter how long it has been since they netted one. Brunner is going to need this attitude to succeed as a sniper in the NHL.

I feel good about Detroit making the playoffs.

I feel confident in the Wings not doing much in the playoffs.

And I feel very confident about our future with so many good youngsters and loads of capspace.

Time to get rid of the shootout. I completely agree with this. Tied NBA games are not decided by a free throw or dunk contest. I have never liked the shootout and never understood what was so bad about a tie game anyways. I like Hollands idea of a 3 on 3 OT would be really interesting to watch would increase the likelihood of a goal and its more true to the actual game rather than a skills competition.
