Franchise tag say whattttt
It's 120% of previous years salary I believe so nope,
It's no coincidence that this happens right after Detroit starts working on an extension.
He wants the Robinson Cano package. And just like Cano, Seattle will probably vastly overpay for him.
Jay-Z might actually be worse for sports than Scott Boras.
To be precise, it's the greater of the average of the top 5 salaries at that player's position or 120 percent of the player's cap hit the previous year. So basically, there's no way we franchise him.
Seattle didn't "need" to sign Avril either. They put a lot of their cap into their defense.
It really comes down to whether or not they just want him. If they do, the cap can be manipulated, and they can afford him.
In all honesty, you're right though, I doubt he goes to Seattle. But I am willing to bet the Seahawks are Jay-Z's first call anyway.
