Yeah I can still barely stand Barbie Carpenter and Rob Sims (Sims is a badass though). Ted Ginn Jr. was always one of my least favorite players from Ohio.

You can tell Sims is good because no one really talks about him. Same can't be said for Backus, Crayola, Peterman and Goz

Hell of a PR. Go get him.

I agree. I think the kickoff rule hurt Logan bad last year. He needs to be replaced.

I think it got him into a funk. Must not be easy as a KR that returns one kick out of 10. I know there were some long KR for TD last season but the new rule really sucked.

Free agent WR/KR Ted Ginn is seeking an increased offensive role with his next team.
"I want to be known as a receiver," said Ginn, "not a specialist guy, not a punt returner, not a kickoff returner." Ginn left Detroit without a contract Thursday. "I'm going to see my options," said Ginn, "but I like the Lions." The Ravens are also said to be interested.

He isn't getting an increased offensive role in Detroit

He reminds me of Desmond. He always wanted to be known as a WR but he was what he was. Embrace it and make the money you can or wonder around the league begging for a shot to do something you cant do.

How dare you compare him to Mr. Heisman

Mr. Heisman is one of the biggest busts in NFL history. If Ginns' ceiling is Howard then I don't want him.

Bustin 102 yard kick off returns in the superbowl..

He wasn't the worse bust in history, that's crazy. Might not have been much of a receiver but he was decent at returning kicks.

So did Stanford Jennings....doesn't make him good.

I didn't say he was the WORST.....just one of the worst. So if the Lions were drafting 4th overall this year and the guy they picked turned out to be "decent" at returning kicks or a "solid" speial teams guy you would be ok with that??

Howard was a bust. I'm not hatin on the guy. I loved him as a Lion.....but he was a HORRIBLE 4th overall pick!!

There is no disputing that.

Not trying to make this an MSU vs. U of M debate. There are busts from both schools.

Just saying that if Ginn is nothing more than Desmond 2.0 then I would pass.

Thats all.

Ginn as a #4 receiver would make him the 6th or 7th option as a pass catcher after CJ, Nate, Young, Pettigrew, Best, and Schef.

That said, our #4 receiver needs to be able to return kicks and fill in the slot if needed. Ginn fits the bill nicely.

My point exactly. Nobody doubts Ginn as a KR/PR.....just like nobody doubted Desmond. But "Mr. Heisman" was a TERRIBLE WR. If that's what Ginn would add than I'd pass.

If Tanquary 10 can be an asset in the passing game and take the top off a D.....then he would be a great add.

i think you missed my point. The 4th receiver on this team is irrelevant unless there's an injury. Ginn isn't a bad option as a 4th receiver and would be a HUGE upgrade at KR/PR. I don't know why anyone wouldn't want him...unless he's asking for a big contract, which he won't be.
