First day:

Slovakia beats USA 4-1
Czechs beat Sweden 5-2
Finland beat Canada 3-1
Russia beat Norway 5-2

Slovakia is the host meaning Czechs are essentially a home team as well.

Kaapo Kako has 5 goals in 2 games against Kanata and Slovakia.

He is projected to go #2 in the draft this year.

Denmark 5:4 (SO) over France
Switzerland 9:0 Italy
Germany 3:1 Great Britain
Latvia 5:2 Austria
Finland 4:2 Slovakia
Czech 7:2 Norway

Hronek had 2 goals and 1 assist in the Czech game. It is against a very weak team though. But through two games he's been solid.

I like the rink size USA and France are playing on. Is that standard for this tournament ?

Not sure about the size, they played in Kosice which is a Slovak league rink.

The other arena is in Bratislava (KHL), but I don't think that one is international size.

USA 7:1 France
Russia 5:0 Austria
Germany 2:1 Denmark
Sweden 8:Italy 0
Canada 8:0 UK
Switzerland 3:1 Latvia

Yup that was a nice Larkin goal to finish it.

Although, that is the 2nd goal USA scored that game where the play should have been stopped for a US penalty.

Keller interfered and knocked down the Fin at the blue line. Also on the Gaudreau goal, one of the US forwards held the stick of the Finnish defenceman which gave Gaudreau the room to shoot.

You can tell the north american players aren't used to the big ice surface.

Seeing that big ice makes me think the NHL would be awesome with the bigger rink. Especially 3 on 3. Maybe one day.

From Monday

USA 3:2(OT) Finland
Russia 3:0 Czech
Canada 6:5 Slovakia
Norway 1:9 Sweden

Today's games
Denmark 9:0 GB
Latvia 3:0 Italy
Germany 4:1 France
Swiss 4:1 Austria

USA plays GB tomorrow will be great for padding them stats.

USA 6:3 GB - was expecting more of a 10-0 games
Swiss 4:1 Norway
Germany 3:2 Slovakia
RUssia 10:0 Italy

GB and Italy got promoted by finishing in top 2 of the lower tier in 2018.

But I agree with you, they don't deserve to be here. 2 teams that could be trimmed from the tournament.
