It measures temperature and reports it as a series of light pulses. People debate what the minimum functionality has to be to call something a computer, but IBM built something with similar functionality (but much bigger) and called it a computer. Here it is next to a grain of rice:

what's really surprising is that the two guys who created it are expected to anchor our defensive line this fall: Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich.
