One playoff win since 1957! Can someone remind me why we follow this pathetic franchise?

For me it's because my dad said so. I said dad I like Pittsburgh and he responds you live here you root for Detroit.

diehard. tom is quiting but the rest won't. at one point this team was a winner it will be again damn it

meh, anyone who has been a longtime fan can't have THAT high of expectations any year. even with Barry i never anticipated they Lions would even make it to the NFC Championship game so it was a shock when they did.

Good teams should be able to overcome bad calls.

If CJ doesn't drop those passes, Jim Schwartz isn't an idiot, and a multitude of other unforced mental mistakes don't happen, the Lions probably win regardless of those calls. If the Lions win, the thought of the game being "rigged" doesn't cross anyone's mind (well, at least for the winning team's fans).

All true but it is what is it now, it doesn't go unnoticed it all adds up and contributes to the never ending cycle shit, lions being the lions must be what's best for the nfl as a whole

I have to admit between Durham's fumble and later his drive killing penalty made me think he was getting paid to lose the game, but that is more likely from emotions of being on losing team and since the Lions lose more than win, it happens so often that one could begin believing the games are fixed, yet there is zero way to fix injuries. Bounty gate was about a team decision, not some league office memo sent to the Saints. Miraculous catches that win games cannot be managed off the field. The concept that games are fixed can only really be applied to potential flag/non-flag situations. The Schwartz Rule vs Houston wasn't the result of a fix, but officials following the rulebook as it applied to all teams and some of the other teams had been victims too, just not as publicly as Lions. Schwartz used bad judgment, there wasn't someone in the media or Mafia in his ear screaming to throw the flag and lose the game. Coaches lose their jobs on shit like that, who would possibly be ok with losing their income in order to fix these games?

Not saying there is zero chance, and some low salary guys might be vulnerable, but there is no way the media is going to pay CJ to drop thise throws last week. How much did his image take a hit because of those drops on National TV? His persona took a hit, that means his endorsement revenue took a hit.

Just a bunch of sour grapes is all I see out of those links. Every game has moments where fans of one team can point and say SEE, told ya it was fixed! But what happens when the end result favors the non-fixed stance? One can still will scream FIXED, but come on, that's just more sour grapes. Just grow a pair and ealize the team you love is "challenged" but you still love them just like if you had a child who is "challenged".

Oh that goes without saying we all know the Lions have been challenged for many years, I'm just saying as it pertains to recent loses yes I do believe it's possible there has been a fixed flag or no flag real aspect here potentially. Let's look at just the last two loses.

Snow everywhere, nobody can see crap, no flags at all at first Lions go up 14-0 then all of a sudden they start getting flagged up and down the field for very borderline questionable stuff, still mange to stop them on 3rd and long but NOPE late hit on Fairly first down! Eagles go on to score. That late hit was absolutely garage their wasn't anything wrong with it. That changed the momentum, couple drives and flags later eagles are up now and did you notice they stopped throwing so many flags on us AFTER mission accomplished eagles up now? I did.

Fast forward, Baltimore, Lions get PI for barley tugging a shirt at which impacted the WR's ability to catch the ball zilch Baltimore goes onto score. Lions don't get an obvious arm bar and have it cost em points. Those things changed the outcome. Yes Lions took care of the rest but to say good teams should be able to overcome fixed flags just isn't going to occur consistently I don't care who you are.

now IMO they can't always ensure their desired outcome, rather just attempts here and there to nudge into the desired winner sometimes they are successful sometimes not.

You could get me to believe the nba is fixed.

The NBA might be the worst of them all, NFL and MLB isn't nearly has rigged but still nudged from time to time for what's best the league ratings as a whole and it may even be a week to week decision based on what would be best for next weeks ratings. JMO.

Sour grapes? idk maybe years and years of losing ends up here, but I'm not upset, just making observations, and I'll be watching Sunday for those ticky tacky calls or no calls "if needed" to help ensure the weeks desired winner whether that be Detroit or NY. I suspect the Lions will be allowed to win this week and either GB or Chi will lose so that the ratings can be kept at it's most optimal for week 17, maybe they won't need the flag help maybe they will and it's not always an assured nudged result sometimes a team is still good enough to overcome the leagues best wishes and they are likely trying their best not to make it too obvious

The reason why I can't see the nfl being fixed for ratings purposes because in the words of Roger Goodell, fuck you you'll watch it anyways.

anyway as I said, I'm not ruling it out.

1957 is a very long freaking time

Forgive me if I don't believe a video produced by a guy who can't even spell "revenue". 3:13 of the clip - "revanue". Not to mention how spurious the claims are. The Patriots won the 2001 Super Bowl because they wanted to be "patriotic"? Lol. Indy wins because it is a big market? ROFL

Now if any sport can be bet on there is the possibility of corruption, but I am more inclined to believe in incompetence in this case rather than conspiracy. Do the refs call games with some degree of bias? Yes. Does it seem the case that this bias constantly goes against the Lions hell yes.

Just curious but did the NFL every say anything on the missed Arm Bar/Holding/pass inference call?
