2012 ALCS Schedule/Rotation

I don't like Sanchez getting two starts in this series. Maybe one but not two...don't like the matchups...

I don't like this match up. Somehow ESPN willed the NYY to win vs the O's. They'd shutdown without them in the post-season.

Is it possible that Porcello pitches? He always seems to do well against the Yanks.

Our rotation has already been set. It is likely if one of our starters gets shelled early Porcello would come in as long relief but that's probably the only way he see extensive time against the Yankee's.

as much as I like seeing Verlander pitching in game one,we won't be seeing C.C. either, they match up Tuesday for game 3 and it's not to shabby having Verlander in game 7 if needed.

Yeah, i see that now. I don't think I like Dirty pitching game 2, but oh well. I think I'd rather see him pitch game 4.

Were really in great shape though considering everything. The Yankee's are seriously struggling right now offensively AND they have some serious issues with the rotation coming into this series.

They don't like to start Kuroda on short rest so more then likely were looking at Sanchez vs Nova in game 2 and Nova has struggled horribly since the All-Star break to the tune of a 7.05 ERA and has not pitched since Sept. 27th. Then we get Verlander at home against CC who will be on short rest.

Well Nova was left off the roster for the ALCS so the options for the Yankee's to start game 2 now hinges on David Phelps or Derek Lowe BUT could be Hiroki Kuroda on short rest but the Yankee's have always tried to get him extra rest AND he has never started on short rest.

Where did you get this info? I have not read anywhere that the Yankees have decided their rotation yet.

The only question on the Yankee's rotation is game 2/4. If they do not start Kuroda in game 2 he will instead start game 4 and Phelps or Garcia will start game 2.

Man I hope our offense shows up. If they do this series is in the bag.

Kuroda will start game 2.

Several ESPN twitter posts reporting this.

Pitching match-ups have been updated. Yankee's decide to give CC extra days rest. Will start gave 4 in Detroit. Kuroda starts game 2 on short rest for 1st time in career. Hughes set to start game 3 in Detroit matching up against Verlander.

Numbers for the playoff teams Starting Pitchers:

San Francisco: 6.41 ERA - 1.71 WHIP
St Louis: 4.21 ERA - 1.46 WHIP
New York: 2.33 ERA - 0.94 WHIP
Detroit: 0.93 ERA - 0.97 WHIP

Not sure why but I think Tuesday could be really tough even with JV going. Its one of those things "hey we're up 2-0 and got JV going - horray" but this game worries me. They need a win, our offense is still non existent most of the time. We need to open up a nice 5-0 lead early.
