2014 QB Wilton Speight commits to Michigan

his name is wilton speight? sure he,didnt mean to sign with colgate, harvard or princeton?

Anyone know anything about this guy or have any videos of him?

Looks like he has a good arm and some nice touch on the ball. He isnt very fast (4.7 40) but he can move in the pocket.

with that 40 time, I'm guessing he's faster than John Navarre, at least.

I wonder how he matches up to Henne.

Maybe Speight is like Mallett, who seemed slow, but he was surprisingly agile in the pocket.

He doesn't have the arm strength Henne or Mallett had. He looks like he's very aware in the pocket though. I love that. Nice project for Al.

For as much as I like Shane and I think he will be a good/great QB for us we learned this year its very important to have depth at the QB spot.

He goes to the same high school as Russell Wilson and he works out with him. It doesnt mean anything but it may.

Russell has tweeted a few things about him today how excited he is for him.

Sam Wegg talked to him this evening on wtka

i think they are podcasting all the guys they talked to

Speight visited Michigan's campus for the Illinois game in October.
Speight originally was on target to graduate in 2013, but a shoulder injury wiped out his junior season, and his high school, Richmond Collegiate, allowed him to reclassify as a junior for the 2012 football season. He hopes to enroll early at Michigan, in January 2014.
Speight said on WTKA that he was offered a scholarship by Michigan after U-M coaches visited him on Friday for a workout in Richmond.

Isn't very fast? Are you kidding? Most great tight ends run 4.6-4.7 not to mention there are some very good safetys that run in those numbers. 4.7 is a guy that won't be lumbering around and can take off when he needs to. Come on, wheels!!!
