2022 Off-Season

With the new rules wouldn?t we receive draft compensation if another team hires Glenn, or is that just front office minorities?

I just looked it up. We?d receive a third rounder in the next two seasons? Not sure about you but I?d trade Glenn for (2) 3rd rounders. Rooting for the man to get a HC job!

Ya i wasnt worried about losing him to Denver. But the Saints...im assuming he gets highly recommended from Payton. Potential he takes some staff with him too like Aubrey Pleasant.

Uggg all too real possibly. Damnit really don?t want to see the lions lose him already!

Incorrect. The person has to be on staff for two seasons, so Glenn would not
meet the criteria.

Dennis Allen is reportedly a shoo in. Wouldn?t make sense to hire Glenn, who was the guy under Allen. My guess is they needed to satisfy the Rooney Rule and Glenn did them a favor.

Thanks for the info. Let?s hold onto Glenn and hope he gets a HC job after next season!

Lions coaching Sam Howell and Malik Willis in the Senior Bowl. And Bailey Zappe

Pickett, Strong and Ridder are on the other Senior Bowl team.

Hopefully get a good look at all 5 top prospects

Wait a year. Lose a lot. Get Bryce Young or CJ Stroud.

odds are that one of the QBs drafted this year will end up being better than both of those guys. The problem is identifying that player. With a group like this one...it's mostly going to be luck.

Maybe, but team has too many other needs to blow an early pick on a back up QB. If we trade Goff for a couple picks im all in. But as of right now we need to focus on building around him.

I agree. Most likely, with Goff, the Lions won't be in position to draft Stroud or Young. They will probably be a 5 -7 win team next year and picking in the 5-10 range.

One thing I find interesting is Holmes was able to pick which roster he wanted. He also mentioned he felt like the QB's on the team he picked was a very strong group (said the QB's as a whole were, but especially on American team). To me that says his early favorites at QB, if we are even looking at them, are Willis/Howell and they like Zappe.

i still think Goff is Holmes' guy. A guy like Zappe could be a round 3 - 4 developmental/quality back up pick. Im hoping he picked that squad to chck out the Georgia LBs.

I've been on the Zappe train since he sliced up Michigan State. Granted, MSU pass defense was awful all year, but that guy can clearly make reads at the LOS and get the ball to his guys in the right windows.

Can he do it at the NFL level? Not sure. But I'd rather have a guy like him as our developmental QB than Blough.

I honestly think he is as well (at least for 2022). Depending on how he looks this year will determine his future.

What would be the cap consequence on Goff if we traded him straight up for Michael Thomas?
