4th preseason game (Thursday)

Detroit tied it at 70-70. Memphis swats Detroit away with a 11-0 run.
Pistons Just don't play team ball yet in my opinion. Cade needs to be better..

Pistons trail 95-88 end of three. Memphis was up 90-75 a few minutes ago.

Yikes. Getting smoked. 0-4 preseason. Team just looks so out of sync on offense. Defense was pretty awful all preseason. They play like this all season I'd like a new head coach. Pistons may be in play for another top pick.

With four minutes left in the game the Pistons have hit 13 threes and the Grizzlies only 7 and Detroit is getting crushed :/

I'm going to start by saying that this is preseason. I get that preseason is not real NBA basketball in a lot of ways. But guys also don't tend to be completely different players between preseason and regular season. SO.

Why can't Cade shoot/score efficiently?

Here are his shooting numbers in each game - 3/11 (1/4 threes), 4/8 (2/4 threes), 3/12 (0/4 threes), and 5/16 (2/8 threes). Now, there are always shots that should be taken with less merit (a missed tip is pretty random, being forced to generate a shot at the very end of the shot clock is going to reduce efficiency). But in the majority of cases, it really looks like Cade is getting the look he wants. He still doesn't drive enough, and isn't getting all the way to the basket the way you'd expect with his handles and creativity, but where are the results?

I'd love for someone else to prop my hopes up here. I'm no scout, so I could easily be missing something big. Has anyone else been watching and has a different take?

I?m no strength and conditioning expert, but I wonder if there?s an adjustment period with his added bulk. Probably nonsense since he?s presumably been practicing all summer, but just a thought. I was expecting to see more strong drives this preseason, which didn?t really happen. Hopefully he?ll get better as the season progresses.

Guys I?m worried. I watched all the preseason games and I see zero improvement from last season. I just don?t know though. He looks small to me and UnAthletic. I am a worry wart though. I wonder if Cade and all the younger guys getting the coaching they need from this coaching staff. This roster keeps jacking up brick after brick. It is so frustrating all the wide open shots this team just can?t seem to make consistently.

Did you expect them to win 50 games. We'll see during the season but 30 wins is probably the high mark this season. Is Casey a good coach, IMO no. Let the shooters shoot the 3s, let the others guys get closer to the basket. Cade can be dominate down below. He's so athletic. He's a triple double waiting to happen.

Yeah, we are literally on year two of the actual rebuild (nobody pre-Cade is a difference maker). We should not expect the team to be good, and for a lot of reasons we should probably hope they land another high draft pick. That's why my worry was limited specifically to Cade. I think he super skilled, he could be a walking triple double in his prime. I just know guys tend to start hitting their stride in year two. He won't be 100% there, but if he's shooting 41%/31% again, then it's a real problem (and should probably lead to some coaching changes).

Where did I every say they would win 50 games. Mitch ? I do expect improvement from last season , and from what I watched in 4 games was the same turnover machine team that can't hit the broad side of the barn.

You made it sound they were going to be awesome.
