13 in runs scores in AL with 46. That's with Cabrera and Fielder batting over .300 ahead of the 5 spot.

12 in RBI's in the AL with 47.

9 in average with .254

11 in Homeruns with 12.

12 in Doubles with 19 !!

13 in OBP with yea baby .286 thankyou Kansas City.

7 in hits with 116, ouch best stat could find!

BTW it has gottten better lately. Unbieveable as that can be.
And the stats for the #6 spot are not much better!

We need 2011 Victor back!!!!!

Yes Victor is much needed, but there's currently better options on the roster other than Boesch/Delmon. I'm generally not a Leyland basher, but for the life of me I cannot understand why he runs Boesch/Delmon out there in the 5th spot day in and day out. Peralta, Avila, Dirks, and Infante would all be better options. Boesch and Delmon have absolutely no plate discipline and their OBP, among other stats show that. The fact that they bat back to back in the 5/6 hole is mind boggling and infuriating.

Well for one thing Avila doesn't hit well above the seven spot. His #6 avweage this season is.214. Peralta 3 year splits show a.238 average in the 5 spot lets try him. Dirks has been injury for most of this season. Infante would be ok to try, but he just got here so his option was not available before. But something got to be done!

Hence the reason Jim is just a average manager.. BB and DY are both swinging right now wherever they are...

Dumb.

If you think Avila would hit worse just because he was moved from 7th or 8th to 6th, you're naive.

The Tigers don't have a #5 hitter....everybody after Prince is below average. I hope DD still has interest in Soriano.
