it was ABC's Brian Ross.

he made a dumb mistake by jumping to conclusions based on the fact that there were a number of posts from some guy with the same name as the shooter on colorado tea party websites.

ABC retracted the statement in no uncertain terms.

The larger point is that Ross obviously was looking for a connection and momentarily his manhood sprung taut when he sensed he struck pay dirt. And the phrase "he might be the same person," has all the investigate integrity of some of the stuff that the NY Times fabricated in the recent past.

I agree. Fabricating facts and a narrative is hardly the purview of democrats or the political left though, as tsmith seems to imply. The Pentagon does it all the time, and pretty much every major media outlet goes along with that. Or see Michelle Bachmann and her ilks constant fear mongering about "muslims taking over the government."

I'm strictly referencing the press and the bias they have, not politicians, because after all, they're politicians.

the "press."

they are biased, but not in the way you've been brainwashed to believe. They are entirely beholding to the large corporations who advertise on their networks.

They're biased, big time. Sorry but they are, even the most stout democrats know they're biased. Most anyway. You think the liberal newspaper man is going to keep his views out of his writing? Not a chance.

Yeah... GE, Time Warner, Newscorp, and Viacom... all bastions of liberal, progressive thought.

keep believing what Rush and Fox cram into your thick skull. Then wonder why the poverty rate, income disparity, and unemployment keeps rising, even though we've been following the conservative playbook since the 80's

You assume I'm a conservative? You assume you know what I listen too? Just stating the obvious, bro.

This reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite episodes of King of the Hill.

Hank Hill interviewing an older gentleman for a employment position:

HANK: Mr. Harrington, you seem to have a few gaps here in your work history.

MR. HARRINGTON: Well, '33 to '45, F.D.R. was in the White House, so I was on the welfare. And in the '60s, you had Kennedy and L.B.J., so I was on the welfare. And then from '77 to '81, Jimmy Carter, so I was on the welfare.

Obama doesn't even hide the fact of what he is trying to accomplish. Its a class warfare game....and its pretty disgusting

That was a good episode. Lol.

Right.

And when Bush gave tax cuts to the rich people and said screw tax relief for the middle class, that wasn't class warfare?

You're so silly.

Everyone's marginal rates dropped in 2003. You can look it up. But the only meaningful marginal rate drop that registers with me is 100%

The rest is acquiescing to the myth that the government has cause and a moral justification to tax my income. Look at what the wealthy in France are doing these days, or will do, loyal subjects that they are.

Yes, everyones tax rates dropped somewhat, but the real tax relief was all to the over $200,000 crowd.

Why is it the Bush tax cuts were rolled out so unevenly? In the 1st year, there were bigger tax cuts for the lower and middle class. Later, much bigger tax cuts rolled out for the rich.

Play with the numbers and tell me that people who make over 200,000 are not paying a shitload in federal income tax and that everyone is paying more in 2012 than they were in 2000.

A flat tax would take away all the perceived inequity in the tax code. Which is still a tax, though and someone can raise and lower it and we'll still be talking about everyone's "fair share."
