Adam Dunn to Athletics

Good luck, Dunn is terrible.

If we had traded for him, he would automatically have the 2nd most homers and 5th best OBP on the team (4th if you dont count Don Kelly, which I dont.) Dunn is not terrible, he should just always DH.

That's because people don't know how to pitch to him. High and up..

I'm pretty sure MLB scouts and managers have watched at least some film on Adam Dunn over his long career and know how to pitch to him....

No one is saying he's an all-star anymore, but the guy still has plenty of pop in his bat, something the Tigers bench does not have. He could pose problems if the Tigers end up making the playoffs and face the A's.

Or a strikeout..just bring in a LH..

In a very simplistic sense, a strikeout is just another out. Yet, most people view it worse than say constantly grounding into a doubleplay, which with a runner on base, is far, far worse.

Strikeouts mean that a player lacks sufficient eye/hand coordination to put the bat squarely on the ball more times than not. A matter of inches, if that.

Walks mean a player has strike zone judgement/discipline.

The two are not related, yet quite a few high walk players are also high strikeout. High Strike Out players generally hit more Home Runs.

Of the top 30 players in ISO from 2012-Present, only 4 players have a SO% less than 15% (Encarnacion, D. Ortiz, Cabrera, Tulowitzki). 19 out of the 30 are over 20%.

Adan Dunn is basically Josh Willingham, except he hits from the left side. Neither can play defense or hit for high average. There are both going to walk, strikeout and hit a few HRs.

CHW sent cash with Dunn to help pay his salary. I will take that in a minute.

In more simplistic view I was just pointing out throw high and inside. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I know there's probably numbers that say he's a better hitter that what I think but that's why it's an opinion. OAKLAND can have all the Adam Dunn's..whole team of them for all I care.

Dunn has some of the strangest stats I have ever seen. The guy has me baffled. I guess he fits in well with some teams and is a liability with others.
