Michigan is in 2nd place behind Western Sydney. This is Michigan's race. Michigan has won every race since 2005. Before that, Michigan didn't always participate.

It's early in the race yet. Should have said that up front.

OK, these updates suck. Different info in different places and no definitive list I can find, but that 2nd place business was, I think, 2 days old. They may be in first place now.

The official race twitter account just posted stage 1 results (where Michigan was in 2nd), but Michigan completed state 2 yesterday. Best I can tell, Michigan is about 25-30 minutes ahead of 2nd place.

Oh crap! That App State car looks really good. (Don't worry, it's in a different, slower class.)

And the Australians brought barbeque to share with the other teams.

Updates are here: https://twitter.com/ASC_SolarRacing

They tweeted that the Aussie car got to today's checkpoint 19 minutes before they tweeted about Michigan. They stagger when they start. If Michigan started first today, that's not a good result.

If I am reading the board correctly the Aussies started the 3 leg 1 min after Michigan and got to the checkpoint 14 min ahead of Michigan. But they left the checkpoint with only about a 9 min lead.

they drink Fosters instead of water there. It catches up with them as the day goes on.

According to the unofficial results, the Aussies won stage 3 by 8 minutes. Offical results seem to end up within 10 minutes of the unofficial results, but not spot on. At the end of stage 2, Michigan had a 19 minute lead, so shave 8 minutes off that ?10 minutes.

Close race.

Western Sydney has a 9 minute lead after stage 4.
