Another Poor Gun Victim of Violent Spree

And doesn't change the fact that a certain percentage of those people "defending themselves" are likely to miss what they're shooting at and hit an innocent bystander.

The solution to ending gun violence is not more guns on the street, I can't believe some people are fucking dumb enough to buy into that philosophy.
But like you said every idiot (NRA) with an internet connection...

that's ok, i cannot believe you are so fucking dumb as to believe it is possible to remove all the guns off the street.

think it through, think about it, think real hard. maybe with enough time you will come to realize it is not possible to remove all the guns from the street. how are you going to stop the illegal ones? are you going to force the manufacturers to stop making them? LMFAO if you believe that is a solution. all that does is increase production overseas. maybe you are Russian and have invested in Russian gun manufacturers, cuz they would certainly love that proposal.

lucky for us there are still some sane, intelligent minds who grasp the full scope and reality of the situation to stop the fantasy world dreamers. now if you'll excuse me, i have to go work on my Perpetual Motion Machine...which has far more potential of becoming reality than removing all the guns off the street.

Yup it's their right. It's also my right to ridicule the would be James Bond and just how far his "protection" got him.

Fact is, carrying a gun for most people is simply a psychological boost in safety rather than an actual one.

well in no small part the number of people who will ever use their gun in such a situation is an extremely low percentage, and that is a good thing obviously, so your point about psych aspect is spot on.

still, is it better to carry the gun and make an attempt to protect oneself or not have a gun and have virtually zero way to protect oneself?

keep in mind, i don't own or carry, so i'd be in the body bag next to you in yours. that isn't necessarily a guarantee that someone who is carrying will be though, as they have a small percentage chance of surviving...and even a small percentage is greater than zero.

so why don't i carry? cuz i am able to recognize my mental instabilities would lead me to using it on all the dumbasses i encounter on a daily basis. lol

maybe you should work on correcting those before you contribute to the discussion here? or anywhere. or before you vote.

Anyone read about the dog in Florida who shot his owner while the owner was driving his truck? loaded gun in the front passenger seat, dog kicks it and it fires, shooting the guy in the leg.

And it's not the first time the guy's dog has shot him...

Too bad he was only hit in the leg, otherwise you could claim a victory for Darwinism.

Where did I say it was possible to get all guns off the street?

Maybe you're the fucking dumb one because you can't read.

You're using a pathetic spin tactic to draw the point away from what I said which was: "The solution to ending gun violence is not more guns on the street", I said nothing, and have never said anything, about removing guns.

Try again.

oh please, they aren't as bad as yours and at least i am capable of recognizing them. you on the other hand...

anyone driving around with a bullet in the chamber deserves to be shot, and preferably Darwinism wins the day. big difference between this guy and a responsible gun owner. in this type of situation i have no issue with revoking his right to own a gun, just like any criminal, because his actions were criminal.

that's not a spin tactic, that's a strawman argument. i.e. he's arguing against a strawman he made up, not against anything you said:
Thumb: "The solution to gun violence is not more guns on the street..."

zyxt: "that's ok, i cannot believe you are so fucking dumb as to believe it is possible to remove all the guns off the street."
To that end, he did not refute anything you said.

Or maybe he just struggles with reading comprehension. He did admit to having mental problems; maybe this clouds his judgment in regards to all cerebral activity.

Either way, congratulations, you win.

Very perceptive. Yet I think I can say you are an expert since this is exactly what you do all the damn time.

I don't have mental problems so much as I have the ability to recognize the desire to kill assholes takes a backseat to living a life outside of prison. That's less problem and more reason and judgment.

If I didn't have such a reasonable and sound mind I would have long ago been in prison. Far too many assholes on this planet.

Which is exactly the point I have been making all along, but u were and probably still are too deficient to have picked up on it yet. See, not only do I not own or carry a gun, I also don't own or carry a bow and arrow. And while I own knives, I do not carry them around. However, despite not carrying these things around, I can in short order acquire any of them or countless other weapons. Yet I never have and doubt I ever will, because my mental state is fine, TYVM. The ultimate point of separation is the mental judgment of the individual. Until u fix that, the root problem of why these individuals are choosing to use weapons to kill others, all of ur anti-gun babble is moot.

You*

Seriously, you type that all out to make your self sound intelligent, but can't add two more letters?

hey, I only do it to you in a joking manner...

you deserve it since you go to Duke and your wife became a racist.

I left Duke in 2010 and I've been making arguments in discussions with Duke people since that Fab 5 documentary that have recently reached comparisons between Duke/Coach K (which I can't spell) and Penn St/Paterno.

(I think I defended against the worse accusation here, right?)

oh.

huh.

I don't know what else to say.

Then I defended too strongly. Defensive reflex I guess. I'm still a Duke fan, just not a very good one. My heart just isn't in it like it is with Michigan. Not even remotely. It's a very distant second. I don't know the fight song. I didn't watch any games this year. I actually felt bad going to basketball games as a student because I was taking up the spot of a student would make better use of it. But all that being said, I'm still more pro-Duke than anyone other than Michigan. More pro-Duke than the "good for the conference" reasoning leads me to be pro-random-big-ten-team.

I've been to a Duke library this year and will likely go again, so there's that.

Lmfao @ u

Yes, I commonly.use accepted forms of internet shorthand, especially when using my phone.

If that's the best comeback u have then it seems the debate is over. Not saying I won, just saying there must not b nething left to say. Fine by me, but please b sure to read my new thread and hopefully u will be enlightened and find hope for the future, that gun violence will eventually be stopped.
