East Kentwood moves up past Rockford.. Lowell drops a bit after losing to Caledonia who moves in all the way up to a tie with Lowell in 6th.. In D3 both Byron Center and Stevensville Lakeshore move out... The rest of the divisions have movement at the bottom but not any in the top 5..

how come you never mention anything about how great Rice is, and how excited you are they have produced our next great QB, Alex Malzone?

Here is a guy that has done playoff projections ever since I have bee going to mlive.. He starts it in about week 5 and does it for the rest of the season.. I am getting a little worried as he still has Lowell and Muskegon falling into division 3 because of so many bigger school's above them winning making the playoffs. I like the fact he moves Byron Center south again but holy crap look at the on district 1 region 2...Muskegon verses Gand Rapids Christian and Zeeland West verses EGR.... and freaking Lowell gets a gift and moves north :/

Brother Rice will get a gift if Lowell and Muskegon move down to D3.
Although if I had to bet I still feel they both end up in D2

Sorry...lol....

I think I mentioned early in the season what a machine they are...Not much moment as they always keep rolling... Plus I live in west Michigan and never see or read much about those school's.. Plus I have always felt weather right or wrong that private school's have an un-fair advantage over public school's so I really don't care much for them..

420-129-4 all-time since 1950..
And a impressive 9-4 in title games including two in a row..
I guess when you can get players from anywhere you can be great :)

Here is another guys work with enrollment so you can see the school's and their numbers size was.. As you can see Muskegon and Lowell or right on the line between d2 and d3.

you make a good point about the student body not being limited by geography for private schools as it is for publics; still I think it balances out somewhat because there are some good athletes that will otherwise not go to a private school because their parents can't afford tuition or they just don't want to put up with the private school mentality (not coed, uniforms/dress codes/stricter discipline).

is enrollment "boys only?" I assume so, otherwise the comparison makes no sense.

Rice looks to be a few hundred students larger than it was in my day, 20 years ago.

edit: according to the handbook, it's not, avgs. about 650 boys. looks like your guy just doubles the enrollment of boys schools to match what the enrollment would be if they were coed.

also crazy that tuition has more than doubled since I attended. sheez

For me it just perpetuates the class system.. The private school's are for the rich people and the public school's are for the rest of the masses.. It is just an opinion.. Then the school's give out scholarships for really good athletes or just figure a way to get them on campus...
(I also do think some public school's skirt around boundary rules and find ways to get athletes into their program)

Instead of us all banding together to make Public school's the best they can possible be we get stuck with different systems for different people.. Public, Private, charter, ect ect.. Education should be the best for everyone if that is even possible... I know MC pretty sappy thoughts......

It was tied at halftime... Mona shores must have had a great second half...They also beat Caledonia in week four 40-7 albeit Caledonia was missing a bunch of starters including their stud running back... But still Mona shores may be the best team in west Michigan no one talks about. First win over the Big Reds since 1982 is what I think I heard on tv...
