I know most fans want to see Denard drafted in the 1st round but I would rather go all out after Talib and draft a WR at 10 like Watkins or Evans.

CB`s are just so risky to take that high unless you know they are going to be a sure thing. Watkins and Evans look like they can step right in and be a solid NFL reciever from day one opposite Calvin.

I am no cap nerd but it looks like the Lions will be able to have a nice chunk of change to spend like they did last year when Free agency hits.
Burelson should be a cap cut, Delmas could be as well. Those are too decent cap hits off the books and Suh should get an extension to lessen some of his cap hit next season.

Talib will be the #1 CB on the market and will probably demand a salary around 7-8 million per year. Nothing too crazy with his bad past, that is certainly feesable. Paired with Houston who hopefully will have a bounce back year would give the Lions a very good CB duo.

Good ideas but im on the Justin Gilbert train right now. He's better than Dennard and would step in Day 1 as a starter.

Im on the fence with WR or CB at #10. Im leaning more on WR because i think we have good talent and youth at CB for us. We're fucked at the WR position and thats a fact. Almost don't have a choice at offensive playmaker at #10.

They might be risky but CBs are a late first, 2nd round option so too speak. I'm not set on taking a WR early but if we did I rather take one in the 2nd.

I agree, if we are going to take a CB in the 1st I would rather it be Gilbert over Dennard.

Houston is shot or just sucks period. Slay, Bentley, Green, Greenwood. I'm on that train

I think talib is the best corner in football right now. average guys get 8 mil per at corner now....talib would probably be ATLEAST 10-12 mil per. probably out of our price range unless we screw ourselves even more with some serious restructuring.

Ugh id like to add a stud corner in the draft who can come in and start day 1 aka Dennard or Gilbert, but that's just me. They probably won't draft a cb high because they have Houston locked up till freaking 2018... Unless the new coaching staff comes in and actually realizes how bad he really is we are stuck with him.

These dudes are young but all have shown the ability to play with good coaching. Back up the brinks truck to the Seahawks secondary coach.

Houston played well in 2010-2012. Inconsistent in 2013. Double moves got him along with playing hurt (Jones and Underwood TD).

CBs for Detroit only had 2 picks this year. Both Chris Houston. The others need to learn how to pick a ball off.

We need a playmaker in the back end. Or someone who can cover..man to man.

It's Slay. These guys take a year.

And who is the other guy? And why is it that some CB who get drafted tear it up right away and yet it always takes us a year..I hope he is good but if the other guy is Houston we're in trouble.

Don't know who the other guy is. Houston was terrible this year, and those fake injuries were gutless. I would have cut him on the spot for that. Bentley seems to be a starter caliber nickel but will never play outside and is injury prone as hell. I liked what Green gave us. Greenwood can stay with guys but needs to be coached up like crazy or he is a liability. My question is how many times are you going to throw shit at the wall to see what sticks before developing what you have. I don't see a cb outside of maybe Gilbert that can make a day one impact in this draft.

Point taken. On the other side you could say how long are we going to go with a bunch of junk before we replace them.

The other side is just as valid. This could be the draft to replace junk, but my limited evaluation skills can't see it.

I don't know enough about the draft to know either. You add in brain dead Delmas and we have a problem.
