Avril Signs With Seagulls

Must have been his ego lmao. While i'm glad it didn't turn into a mudslinging thing, he could have stayed for those pennies compared to he got to leave. He just didn't want to make less from detroit. So glad with the approach taken with him and that situation.

GET HIM OUTTA HERE BUDDY!!!

Seattle fans all over Twitter and ESPN claim Cliff is the missing piece and they now have the best defense is the NFL....lol

Heathcliff only had 11 sacks with sub and fairley pushing the pile. This man couldn't even clean up pike ray edwards did with the vikings. Seattle fans are delusional.

I wouldnt go as far as to say seahawks fans are dellusional. The hawks took clemmons from the eagles who had comparable if not worse numbers and turned him into a pro bowl guy. Avril is exactly tbe kind of player they need. Someone to rush as an every down player. He might not be the best de in tbe league but he is exactly what the hawks needed with clemmons recovering from a knee injury.

I watched a lot of the seahawks living out west....their dline is violent. The opposite of Avril who reminds me of when my 6 month old gets a hold of a stuffed animal and tosses it all around. Seems like an odd fit.

If I were Detroit I would not sign Avril..if I were Seattle I would. That simple..he's a luxary player with one skill set..Seattle has guys to make up for what he lacks so it helps, Detroit doesn't so it's better to let a guy like that walk.

That's probably accurate.

It isn't exactly the same, but to me, Cliff not signing that 3 year/$30 M deal with the Lions is the equivalent of Juan Gonzales not signing that massive 7 year/$140 M deal with the Tigers.

Whew!!!

Thanks Cliff.

Grab an umbrella on your way out of town!!

I say delusional because their D is just fine without him. I don't think he brings anything that's gonna take their defense up a notch. They're defense is great as it is, and with avril they're still great. It's a better situation for him because he'll likely not have as much responsibility. Glad we spent money on potentially better fits for our team. I'd be glad, but sure wouldn't lose my mind if i were a seahawks fan though.

You just said it though, he bring another element to an already fantastic defense. Wehn you can rotate pass rushers on your dline you're that much better. As long as they didn't have any glaring needs, which I don't think they did, a luxary signing like this is usually what teams do to make a push for the top spot. If he can come in and be asked to simply run straight for the QB while other people do the dirty work and is effective, then it's money well spent.

Sometimes. IMO, Suh had his best year as a rookie. Not just because of sack totals but seemed to be more disruptive. When we drafted Fairley, Schwatz said it was partly because Suh played too much as a rookie. Since then, esp. year 2, I would sometimes see Suh out for 2-3 plays in a row. Long term this probably helps but I want Suh out there as much as possible. Granted, wasn't like he was bad in year 2 and 3 but I hate seeing him on the sidelines for multiple plays.

Avril could have 50 sacks for Seattle, I will still be happy he isn't a Lion.

Maybe he fits their system, in the Lions system he was painful to watch everytime he blew by the RBs or QBs and put himself out of the play.

Best of luck to him, but glad he is gone.

I think the wide 9 played a role in that a little bit. But Avril seemed to keep going after the QB when the QB didn't have the ball anymore. Him and KVB did that a lot in 2012.

We are very fortunate he didn't except that 3-30m deal. Holy crap we're lucky.

Looks like he's going to make his debut for the Seahawks this Sunday against the 49ers.

he is not a very good player. Suh made him look way better than he was. He hardly got to the QB when suh was triple teamed.
