Bama game is a night game

stupid. Now I have to wait 8 more hours to watch the first game of the season AND I have to stay up past my bedtime.

Anyone know the last time the season opened away from Michigan stadium?

I like late games. I can usually get a bunch a people to watch the game with.

I also don't act like I'm 6 or 60 and can stay up til midnight unlike M&B lol

I don't mind staying up late for a game because I stay up late anyway, but waiting around all day for the game to start sucks. The extra commercial breaks that prime time brings also blow.

Wait a second. I can, and do, stay up to watch these games - I just hate doing so. There's a huge difference. I hate catering to the TV networks. Games should be at 12:00 or 3:30....no matter where or who we play.

Not to mention, as TW24 did, I hate waiting around all day for my game to start.

you're being unreasonable about this.

Personally, I enjoy night games, but I worry about the increased opportunity for students to act like knuckleheads while the spotlight is on them.

I thought that would be a problem, but I was at the ND game LY, and didn't see anything too crazy. there was a little more drinking beforehand, but the people that overdid it just kinda passed out prior to the game. they didn't go the Stadium and bring da ruckus.

despite drinking any number of beers over the course of our tailgate, and doing shots of wild turkey with Vic, and a bunch of frat boys on the way to the game, I was more or less sober by halftime. Not sure how that happened.

When I first saw this post I thought it was about the softball game tomorrow night.

GO BLUE!

Thanks for posting this, ML. I just checked MGoBlue yesterday to see if I needed to update the 2012 & 2013 Schedules thread and it wasn't showing yet. I'm trying to keep it updated so you guys can check it for game times without leaving our comfy little home here.

Yeah, I don't think that a night kick-off is all that different from the 3:30pm EST kicks, at least in terms of the tailgating and/or opportunity to get too wasted.

I can recall more than a few noon home games as a student where I was still dragging from the night before and/or hungover. Now as an Alum and adult, I like the 3:30pm kick-offs best when back for a game but last year' UTL game just adjusted the tailgate schedule by a little bit.

But I assumed the Bama game would be at night, seeing as how it's the National Showcase game like LSU v Oregon last year was.

i hate waiting around

and yes i too assumed it was night game but it wasn' tofficial until this week

tv schedules starting to develop

some game times aren't set until 10 days before game

i was proud how we handled night game here

you realize this is two away games both at night - i think it is tougher on the players due to the sitting around - and how to keep them occupied and ready all day

Its gotta be tough on Hoke to. The poor guy doesnt eat before games. I wouldnt want to be the one standing between him and the buffet after the game.

The only issue with UTL was the beef btw A2 police & the school and lack of traffic control after the game. All these intersections went to blinking red 4-way stops and postgame traffic was a complete and total nightmare.
