man those were some great skits. The Bob Dole Real World one was the best.

I wonder why he's saying this stuff now though. I don't think this is the first time he's said it, and similar moderates have said the same thing over the past decade.

He's also 89. Not sure if he really expects to have much impact at his age, but you have to admire him for wanting to stay involved.

One of the weirder gas stations I've been to is in Russell, KS ...it's half truck stop, half Bob Dole Museum & Gift Shop.

Apparently you are not familiar with Stalin and his attrocities that some calculate as causing more deaths than Hitler. Difficult to know either one's totals in that regard, particularly with the Iron Curtain in place.

I do know that Russian Jews living in NY have virtually no clue about Judaism due to having to suppress their religion for so long else face probable execution. I have little doubt that many other groups were equally mistreated and would be considered victims.

Just goes to show that the more extreme the views down either path leading toward Nationalism, Communism, Socialism, and all the other extremist views end up resulting in attrocities once someone with evil intent comes into power...and many leaders from those Isms have evil intent once they are in power lending credence to the old saying "Absolute Power corrupts absolutely."

Personally I really hope there is a split in the Republican party and a third, far more Moderate party can finally come into power. If "the old guard" were to break off and form such a party it would likely have more power than any current 3rd Party. Or better yet, let the Tea Party become the 3rd Party and keep the Republican Party name for the Moderates. The Tea Party will hopefully dissolve eventually anyway, best not to let them have control of the Republican name when that happens IMO. I'd bet even the Liberals would agree to that.
