Boston 113 Detroit 103 Final

The Pistons lost. Reggie had a nice statline (aside from the TO's) but a big reason why they lost was because Reggie let Isaiah Thomas go off for 34 points.

No offense but did you even watch the game? The majority of his scoring came with Lucas guarding him.

I'm aware other guards were trying to cover Thomas, and were ineffective, but some of his penetration and scoring came when Reggie was guarding him. As the opposing PG it's his assignment and he wasn't good at the defensive end. The bottom line is Thomas outplayed Jackson and his team won the game.

Well, when Brandon Bass, Jae Crowder, and Kelly Olynyk have huge games, what do you expect? Are you putting the loss on the fact that Thomas outperformed Jackson, even though Jackson still had a damn good game? Not finding the sense there. Can I also say it was Monroe and Drummonds fault for letting average post players carve up the interior and get easy buckets?

Id take 21/15 over 34/5 from my PG every game. EVERY GAME.

And as far as oh Boston won.... Umm team sport. Plus, if they won you woulda complained that they did anyways. Don't kid yourself, stop hating on YOUR OWN TEAM.

There is a lot on this team that still needs work, but if the Pistons decide to lock up RJ which they should, PG won't be a concern.

Or, you can let him go, and scuff your feet in free agency to find a serviceable PG to come here.

I hear DJ Augustin will be available. :lmao:

First off, nobody is disputing that Thomas was the MVP of the game. So while it might be the "bottom line", it's also off topic.

The topic at hand is falsely stating that Jackson was at fault for Thomas scoring so much due to bad defense on Jackson's part.

I watched the game, but since you seem certain that it was Jackson's problem because he's the other PG (which is even more irrelevant but an argument for another time), I checked out the advanced box score.

Thomas had his biggest stretches with Jackson off the court. Because Thomas came off the bench and Jackson started, their playing time was staggered most of the game. If Jackson was on the court for even half of Thomas's torrid game, his +/- would be in the toilet. But he was actually +12. You know who had terrible +/-? Lucas and Meeks who were a combined -30 for the game. Even worse, during Thomas's two hot streaks they were a combined -43. Now I'm not saying Jackson shut Thomas down when he was in the game, but he certainly wasn't the swiss cheese defense that Meeks/Lucas and even at times KCP (who also had his share of guarding Thomas) were during the game.

TL;DR: Thomas was the MVP but labeling Jackson the scapegoat for this game is really misplaced blame.
