CB Josh Norman is a fa

I think he's overrated and also probably to expensive. But if we can get him cheap I'm all for it.

No way you get him "cheap".

Carolina dropped the tag because they knew how much this guy wants to get paid.
Wouldnt be surprised if a team like the Jags went after him

I just saw that Slay is ready to get extension next year.. Not sure they can afford both.

Per Dave Birkett: The Lions have $23.3M in available cap space, after their pending release of Stephen Tulloch. 49ers, Browns, Jags, Titans only teams w/more

We don't have to cut anyone to be players in this if we want to be.

How about next season when Slay gets paid?

The rest of CJs cap comes off the books. We aren't in the mix for him so it's moot, but Ink is right it can happen. Do we want to lock up $30 mil at one position? Even if it is the top position in the all pass NFL? Ziggy needs to get paid too.

We really don't know if we're in the mix or not yet. We've heard "8-9 teams" have inquired with his agent. We've also heard Tampa Bay, San Fran, and Jacksonville are in the mix. That leaves 5-6 other teams in there, and we don't know who.

Not only does Calvin's money fall off the books for 2017, but the cap is expected to raise by about another $10mm next season like it has been steadily.

In other words, Ziggy can get paid. Slay can get paid. Norman can get paid. The beer guy can get paid. The chip guy can get paid. I'm the only guy not getting paid!!! ... I digress.

Nothing at all saying Norman is in play, or will be signed, or even should be signed... I'm just saying we can. We're not out on him. only three teams have more cap room than the Lions at this moment, so we can be players if we so choose.

Josh Norman - DB - Free Agent
Yahoo! Sports' Charles Robinson reports the 49ers are "expected to be the early front-runner" for free agent CB Josh Norman.
The 49ers have been one of the main teams linked to Norman in his first seven hours of free agency. According to Robinson, the Jaguars also "have interest." Jacksonville and San Francisco are currently Nos. 1 and 2 in cap space, with each having over $50 million available under the cap. It'll come in handy if this becomes a bidding war, which it very likely will. Per ESPN 49ers reporter Paul Gutierrez, Norman is "intrigued" by the idea of playing in California.

Juicy story! You sign this cat and it becomes a choice between Ansah OR Slay. Yikes....because you can't afford all 3. Imagine a combo of Norman and Slay? Woooooooooo.....idk! Make it happen, Quinny! Lets see what you got! Get all 3!!!
