CB Josh Norman is a fa

With San Fran I expect because they had like 19 guys retire.

Yep, Normans interest is money, not winning games. I can't imagine going from a team like the panthers to a team that has been completely gutted the last few years.

If he's smart he will go where the money is.

Norman has "only" made $2.3M over his career. It is very likely that this will be his biggest payday. If it were me, the guaranteed money in this contract is the most important factor.

If I were an NFL player I think this is how I would rank where I signed.

1) $$$
2) Location / city
3) organization (how they treat players)
4) chance of winning a SB

Not me. Of those 4, I'd probably put money 4th. And honestly, we're probably talking just a couple million from one organization to another. When money is first you end up like all those retired athletes who are broke.

putting money first has nothing to do with going broke. What you do with the money is why you go broke.

It's the mindset. No one says I'll take this offer because it's the best and then spends 60k a year like Broyles. They buy big houses, expensive cars etc.

I was telling you what I would do. The 2nd contract would be my last (if playing football). If I got an extra few million from a team I would live off of that extra money...bank the rest and retire.

No you wouldn't. You'd be broke as Terrell Owens. Instead of playing in nice area, going o a SB for 38m guaranteed you'd go to a last place team, to a place you hate making 40m guaranteed.

funny how you think you know what I would do. I am very frugal. I only buy myself used cars (my wife gets new). Both cars are paid off. We have no bills other than our house payment and utilities. We save about 20% of our gross income for retirement. We go on vacations and don't want for anything but we live well below our means.

I said money is first but I didn't say it was the only parameter. My second parameter was location. I would not go to a city where I didn't want to live full time. I would also not go to an organization where they treat people like shit.

Would you take 2m more to go to a place you didn't like? I know I don't know what you'd do. Just making conversation..

Josh Norman - DB - Free Agent
NFL Network's Mike Silver tweeted Friday that he does "not expect the 49ers to make a run" at free agent Josh Norman.
It's interesting because other reporters have stated San Francisco has the hots for Norman, in addition to the Redskins. With so many teams quickly bowing out Norman pursuit based on his pricey contract demands, it's left the Redskins perhaps bidding against themselves. (This is where Dan Snyder comes into play.) Norman certainly seems to believe he's signing with Washington. He brought his entire family to the Redskins' facility on Friday.

Washington signed him. ..

And have to free up cap room to pay the man

Not even the slightest bit surprised. Snyder always manages; meanwhile we're pissing our pants about trying to extend a couple rookies.

And before someone thinks I'm bashing the Lions, untwist your panties, because I'm not. I'm just saying, he always seems to get the guy he wants, regardless if it's a good or bad decision in hindsight.

Wow, 51.5 mil guaranteed for a 28 year old corner with one elite season. I'm glad the Lions didn't enter the fray to be honest.
