4 yr 53.5 million. 30 guaranteed. Avg of new money is 13M plus a season.

Chris Johnson's four-year, $53.5 million extension is tacked on to two years he had remaining. Johnson now under contract through 2016.

seeing as how we're going to need to resign avril and calvin in the next couple seasons these deals to fitzgerald and johnson are looking kinda scary.

good for johnson though. whatever. you don't need an elite RB to win a superbowl. he's fun to watch but they are stuck where we were with barry recycling washed up QB's. same with minny. good luck.

The Johnson deal is just stupid. You'll find Tenn like Broncos used to be, put anyone back there and you got a 1000 yard back.

I had a 16 team fantasy draft last night with regular standard scoring I had the 4th pick and I picked Ray Rice. Everyone was scared off of Chris Johnson because of his contract and I was actually able to grab him in round 2. I couldn't believe it. They all were saying he was gonna miss entire year. So I was really happy to see him get his deal. Although I would never pay an NFL RB that kind of money it can hamstring your cap if it backfires.

you're telling me that you got Johnson with the 28th pick?! Oy vey...

Over his first 3 seasons, Chris Johnson had 4,598 rush yards, 3rd most in NFL history behind Eric Dickerson and Earl Campbell, via Elias SB.

I don't think just anybody would put up these numbers... Dude should be making more than he was... Glad it is over with.

Yep I even questioned that I hadn't missed him being picked.
